"Cassie. Cassie. Cass..." I hear a mutter.
I roll over to the other side of my bed and refuse to wake up.
"Honey, please wake up." I hear another mutter.
I turn around and sit up. My eyes are open, which takes a lot of effort since my eyelids are heavy and my eyeballs are red and strained.
"Hi," I acknowledge, my voice sounds low and raspy.
"Finally you're up!" Mom blurts out, obvious that she has been waiting for me to awake for hours or possibly days.
I observe my surroundings. It appears that I'm in a hospital. I'm lying in an uncomfortable bed. I'm hooked up to a couple of machines. The door is wide open and I can view the nurse's station straight across from my room.
Why am I in a hospital?
I find that Mom isn't the only person with me. There's Dad, Eva, Mitchell, Dylan, and Gina.
"Are you all right, Cassie?" Eva questions worriedly. She stands by me and holds my hands.
I nod my head. "Yeah...I guess?"
"Do you have any memory of what happened?" Dad questions me.
I think for a moment. A little bit ago, Mom drove me to school, and when we reached the school, I threw up immediately. Then everything started going black. And now I'm in the hospital.
"I puked and passed out?" I say, confused.
"Yes," Dad says, nodding his head. "Your mom took you to the hospital because you were unconscious. That was 2 days ago. 2 days later - today - you finally woke up."
"Wow," I say, mind boggled.
Mitchell speaks up. "And, um, there's a big announcement."
"Really, what is it?" I ask, there's a feeling deep down in my gut that this is going to be bad news.
"The doctor thought you were showing signs of pregnancy," Mitchell explains. "She performed a pregnancy test on you and the results are positive."
I gasp. "I'm...pregnant?!"
Everyone including Mitchell nods their heads gravely.
I start to sob hysterically.
No way. I can't be a mother. I'm only 15! I think to myself sadly.
My life is now a piece of shit.
