Italy froze in terror. Sure, he needed to confront Germany, but not now. He wasn't ready. Italy opened his mouth, preparing to speak, but the room was still heavy with silence. His throats was dry, and his palms were coated with a thick layer of sweat. He kept trying to speak, but words wouldn't form, the blood rushed to Italy's face as he attempted over and over to say something, anything. However, much to his dismay, he looked like a gaping fish as he opened and closed his mouth over and over.

Nothing was said, not by Germany nor Italy. Though, at the moment, maybe words weren't what they needed. Finally after what seemed like forever, Italy broke from his daze and latched onto Germany, wrapping him in his embrace.

Tears clouded Italy's vision as he latched onto Germany tightly, fearing that he might lose the German.

"Vee~ Germany I'm sorry."

"Nein, I'm sorry," Germany apologized.

~Time-Skip~

Italy awoke to the gentle breeze of morning air that blew through the room from the open window. The curtains swayed in the wind and shimmered with the morning light that filtered through them.

Italy rolled over slightly and panicked when Germany wasn't there, however the fresh smell of food cooking in a nearby room laid his fears to rest. Sighing gently, Italy rolled out of bed and crept towards the kitchen.

His heart warmed at the sound of Germany humming softly to himself as he cooked. He was humming the song that Italy had wrote for him a couple years ago.

Germany

Germany

Germany is a really really nice place

They even give their prisoners food (Not sure if that's right- author)

And it doesn't suck like English food.

Italy remembered those lyrics and smiled at the fact that Germany remembered the song as well, even if he was just humming it.

Italy crept behind Germany and wrapped his arms around the Germans waist with a smile.

"Good morning Germany~"

Germany stopped humming quickly and turned his head to see his Italian friend. He smiled, hoping Italy had not heard his humming.

"Ah, good morning Italy."

"Ve~ I'm glad things are back to normal."

"Ja, me too."

Germany was glad Italy was so forgiving, he was glad that things turned out the way that they did. However, he had to face the fact that this time they shared together would be short-lived. How much time did they really have left?
