As we both disappeared under the waves, I held Mark's body firmly against my chest and focused fully on flapping my tail swiftly downwards through the swirling mass of bubbles that engulfed us. Noisy fizzing surrounding us, although I paid no attention to it, my strained gaze was sharply fixed to look at the deep waters below me while my ears were roaring with curdling blood as I propelled deeper down through the sea. Sadly, as I fiercely swam, I had to ignore Sam who was trying his absolute best to keep up with us by wagging his stout body and flipping his fins speedily from the corner of my eye.

Sam has no idea what I'm doing right now... My thoughts reminded me gravely. Suddenly, I could feel an uprising of sadness grip my shuddering body and I quickly found myself forced to shun it. I closed my eyes tightly as I drew a couple quick breaths. I just want to reach the bottom of the ocean and get this terrible nightmare over with. I am not capable of drowning Mark but right now, I had too. Oh God, I wonder how this is going to work out...

Mark's going to be kicking and screaming and I'm going to have to hold him down... My eyes started to water as I looked down to Mark who was comfortably swaddled deep in my grip. I can't back out of this now, I must do this for the sake of our future... I traveled quickly past fronds of crisp golden kelp and squeezed by lumbering rocks as the light above us began to get dimmer and dimmer as I continued to dive into the dark ocean.

The scenery around me was a blur as I plundered deeper down several steep cliffs of rock until I was abruptly cut off from my momentum and I found myself within a tangle of coral. I can't get stuck here! We're still too close to the surface and Mark's going to start loosing air! Branches of brittle coral scratched the sides of my arms and tail as I ripped past gardens of red and pinkish crusty tendrils. I swatted one hand around bustlingly and thrashed my tail vigorously, breaking my way through the coral progressively as I kept Mark securely close to me with my other hand, making sure nothing harmed the vulnerable man. I gazed down quickly to Mark once I was far ahead of the jumbled mess of coral we left behind, his eyes were still conscience and his body was calm, he was fine for now but within a few moments we was going to start instinctively fight me. Oh Mark... I felt my heart crumble with sadness by the thought of him soon going to be in excruciating pain. This is going to as painful for me as it will be for you...

I swerved agilely past arches of giant molded rock outcrops covered in algae and swaying clumps of seaweed while drifting by countless varieties of colourful coral crowding the ground. The more I dived down, the less diversity of vegetation poked out from the sand and the more towers of darkened rocks lurked intimidatingly around me. Dark shadows were casted along the bare sand and it sent a frightening message of unwelcome up my spine. I swam rapidly down beside a gnarled rock and dodged my way past poking boulders into the opening of a nook surrounded by walls of rock and a sandy flooring, I slowed myself as we entered the cozy gorge. I nodded to myself in satisfaction as I looked around. This seems to be a good depth, the light is barely coming in and I don't think Mark can swim fast enough if he wanted to reach the surf-

Suddenly, bubbles spurted from Mark's mouth rapidly as a fierce kick whipped me in the stomach. "Arghh!" I groaned and immediately my hands released Mark into the water, I winced with sudden pain as I glanced down to see my stomach reddened and bruised. I began rub it therapeutically. Mark can sure kick! I mumbled grumbles under my breath until I finally regained easiness, only mild stinging pain still engulfed my torso. I flicked my gaze back up to Mark to only gasp immediately afterwards with shock. I stared at Mark with sheer terror as I watched him frantically begin to squirm and kick furiously. Even though I knew he was going to suffocate terribly, I couldn't help but stare in horror...
