Misaki's pov. :

I was sitting on one of the couches in the living area, heatedly reading on 3 open books I had in front of me on the table while also trying to keep an eye on the cooking rice on the stove in the kitchen. I admit, I might not be a superior human being, but when it comes to multitasking, I am unbeatable!

My concentration slipped a little when I heard the front door opening and then closing with a click and a thud. Usagi-san was home. When he reached the apartments interiors, I greeted him like usual.

     -"Welcome home!"

     -"I'm home.."

I gave the author a glance while smiling widely, but my smile faded when I saw the look on Usagi-san's face. His eyes were encircled by dark voids, the purple color of his iris almost faded to grey. His entire being seemed sunken down and beaten, as if he'd missed a month of sleep. I shot up from the couch, ready to start nursing him, but then Aikawa appeared from behind him, giving me a gentle smile.

-"Aah, Takahashi-kun. How are you today? Sorry for the intrusion, but me and Akihiko still have some matters to discuss. I hope this isn't a problem for you?"

It took me a while before I could think of an answer.

-"A-ahah, no of course not. Sit down and I'll make some tea. Maybe you'd like to join us to dinner?"

Aikawa-san smiled at me once more but shook her head.

-"Oh no no, I don't want to steal any more time than I have to from you two. I'll just squeeze the last answers from him and leave. But thank you for the offer."

Aikawa-san then walked Usagi-san to the couch, making him sit down. I decided to give them a little privacy and went upstairs to continue studying, but not before turning off the stove and giving Usagi-san a last glance. The poor bastard looked like he'd pass out any second. I immediately felt immensely more bad for him, thinking back on the rough week he's had.

On both Monday and Tuesday he had two meetings per day, on Wednesday he went on a business trip to Germany (from what I heard from Aikawa, it was for "research purposes") and was gone until Friday. On Saturday he had another meeting, discussing the things he'd found out on his trip. Now it was Sunday, and he'd just come home from a 3 hour meeting. Jeez, life as a professional author seems much more tiring than I thought.

As I was sitting at the desk in my room, I heard Aikawa-san leave. Soon after, a tired grumbling was heard from the hallway outside my room, and the door to Usagi-san's room opened and closed. Quiet snoring could then be heard.

"I have to do something! I can't help but to feel bad for him. He's had work all week with no free time at all whatsoever."

Then an idea popped up in my head. I didn't like it, but it was the best one so far. Luckily it was study break (the thing high school/college students get when finals are nearing. They just get a little time off from school to study properly. I don't know if it's only in my country but still) so I'd have the next week free.

The next day, Usagi-san slept 'till the afternoon. But that didn't bother me. In fact, it gave me more time to think my plan over and go purchase the things I needed. Which was great.

I was in my own bedroom preparing myself for the eventual night to come when I heard low grumbling and a door opening with a silent squeak. Usagi-san had woken up. Suddenly I felt butterflies invade my stomach. What if he wouldn't like this? What if it'd just cause him more stress rather than relieving the amount he already had?
