_______________Oh my God! "Colt you take that baby and your family and get somewhere safe! I'm calling the cops, and Matthew and I are on our way right now!" I hung up

"What's wrong?! Is everything okay?" Matthew looked panicked.

"Matthew someone is at colts house telling him to give the baby to him let's go!!"

Matthew was on the phone with the police and we were speeding down the highway as fast as we could.

Who could this be! It was probably the person who destroyed my house, and now they are threatening my friends and my child!

The cops were everywhere surrounding Colts house. I felt bad putting them through this, who could this, be!

"You stay in here Emmalynn, and I mean it, if you get out of this truck I swear I will be so pissed off."

"Fine!" But you get that baby, and you bring him to me ASAP!"

He got out and I waited for him to get out of distance so he couldn't see me get out. I got out slowly shut the door and began walking over to the back door.

When I put my hand on the door handle I head a deep clearing of the throat and the sound of a gun clicking to load.

My fingers went numb. Oh Jesus I should have stayed in the truck like Matt had told me too.

The sound of a gun blast made my ears ring. I felt a sting in my lower back, and warm blood begins to fall down my legs.

I have been shot, my knees got weak and my vision was blurred with tears. I fell to the floor onto my back. I felt my baby flutter around oh God my baby girl.

I was 7 months pregnant, and I had a 2 month old baby, I had too much to live for right now to die like this.

"Matthewww." I tried to yell out.

I heard the rustle of grass, and the man ran away.

"Help! There is a pregnant woman down! There is blood coming from her back! We need an ambulance right now!!" I head a cop yell out to the other police men.

My world began to close around me, and everything became a black hole.

Matthew's POV

I heard a cop yell after we heard the sound of a gunshot.

I ran to my truck to see if Emma had listened to me and of course like my stubborn wife, she was gone.

'Dear God please don't let this be my wife.'

I ran back to the house and went to the back door to find my wife lying on the ground being lifted to a stretcher.

"Emma! Damnit! I told you to stay in that damn truck! Now look!"

I was furious! I ran to her side, and her hand was limp, but she was still breathing.

"Colt!" I ran into the house to see if Colt was still in there so we could go to the hospital, and I could get the baby.

"Matthew I'm in here." He walked out of a closet holding Jake, and his children followed him.

"Are you okay!" I ran to him, and took the baby out of his hands."

"Yeah we are okay, we heard a gunshot? Is everyone okay?"

"No Colt, Emma was shot! And we need to get to the hospital right now!"

"Emma was shot!!" He looked at me with fear in his eyes. "Matthew where did she get shot?!" We grabbed the keys and we ran down stairs, his wife took the kids and put them in a separate car.

"Let's go Matthew!"

We got in the car and we speed off.

Oh God please don't take my wife and my unborn child away from me. I looked back and little Jake was sitting peacefully in his car seat looking around.

We got to the hospital and I didn't waste any time at all, I ran in and of course I know everybody because of Emma.

"Hey Julie, where is Emma? I need to know how she is doing."

Julie was a short red-headed girl with thick black glasses; she always wore pink scrubs every time I saw her.

"Matthew, she is in the OR right now I don't have any updates right now, but I will let the doctor know that you are here, and when he comes out I will send him your way alright?"

I slumped a little upset that they didn't know how my wife was.

"Alright, thank you Julie."

I walked and slumped in my chair.

I fell asleep for awhile, when I felt a slight shake of my shoulder.

"Matthew Conner?"

My eyes were tired, when I looked at him.

"Yes! How is my wife?"

I stood up and faced him.

"She is good Matthew, she will be very sore, he got here right in the hip, so it will be painful for her to walk, or sit so she will be in a wheelchair." He messed with his hair.

"And depending on how well her hip bone recovers we will have to do a C-section when it's time for the baby." He fidgeted again.

"She also lost a lot of blood, so we have her in the ICU giving her some blood." He looked at me with stressed eyes.

"The baby is still responding well to everything so she wasn't hurt during this little situation, so you shouldn't worry. I will let you know when you can see her."

I let a breath of relaxation out when I knew my wife and baby was okay. I ran my fingers through my hair and looked at my feet.

"Thank you so much Doctor."

I sat in my chair again and Colt sat next to me. "Man that baby is sure a women attracter." He smiled

"Yeah he is very good looking baby."

"How's she doing?"

"She's good, lost a lot of blood, but the baby is responding to everything, and so on."

I was so tired after all this, it all happened so soon, my family could have been taken from me so fast and, is was so scary to think about. Thank God my family was still together.
