       "Hey man." I sat down with some of my buddies in the station.

 "Hey how is Emma?" My best friend Luke asked.

"Well, to be honest I was a little worried about leaving her today." 

"That bad huh?" I was running my fingers through my black hair, and looking down at my boots guilty for leaving her behind.

"Yeah man she's not good I mean she hasn't gone to work she wont get up out of bed, she crys all the time, I wake up in the middle of the night to her crying. She even dreams about it man, I- I Don't even know what to do! Our wedding is in 5 weeks!" I was frustrated.

"Man I know but you know maybe you should hold back on the wedding a little while, let her recover from this, or the wedding just wont be the same you know?" He was right.

How would i go and tell my mourning fiance that we needed to hold off on the wedding though. I honestly didn't know, nor had the heart to do it.

"Your right Luke, but I don't know if I could do that, She would take it the wrong way, I know her."

"Trust me I know her to man, you just got to be easy with it."

Emma was a sensitive person, if you wern't careful she would take everything the wrong way. I've learned my lesson on that one you better believe it.

"Ill talk to her when this shift is over, I need to call her and see if she's okay." I walked over to the corner and dialed her number.

"Hello?" A cheerful voice came on the phone.

"Babe? Is that you." I was in utter shock!

"Well yeah silly you did call me phone." She giggled.

"I was calling to check on you how are you?"

"Oh I'm good I'm picking the flowers out for Jake's funeral, they are so beautiful." She said softly.

"Baby, do I need to come? Ill get off in no time." I sat on the arm of a couch.

"No really Matthew I'm alright I'm strong." She sure was.

"Is anyone with you?" i ran my fingers through my hair.

"Yeah your sister is with me. Wanna say hi?" 

"Yeah lemme talk to her."

"He good lookin'! How's my bubba?" My sister's voice came on the other line.

"Hey sis, do me a favor please keep an eye on her, don't let her alone do everything go shopping, eat, anything just don't let her alone. Please."

"Gotcha! Oh Emma those are beautiful. Okay i have to go I love you, and get home safe!"

The line went silent. There was something wrong, was she really okay? She always worried when I had to leave for work, I am a firefighter, and she didn't mention anything. What is going on?

Or was everything okay, and I was just being silly. Hmm...

"Matthew, is she good?" Luke came up behind me a startled me our of my daze.

"Oh, yeah she's uh really good actually. She is getting flower's for the funeral tomorrow. She was good man like to good. I think she was pretending." I was stunned.

"Nah man i don't think so, she is probably getting to the point she knows he's not coming back, Carman was like that with her mom."

"Yeah, your probably right." I shook my head, and stood up.

My shift was over and I was headed home, I looked and the clock and it was already 10:30.

I pulled up at the house and all the lights were on. This was strange.

Opening the door Emma was standing there in a short red dress holding two glasses of wine.

"Baby? What's all this?" There was dinner made, the house was spotless, and she looked amazingly sexy.

"I made dinner for you, and I got dolled up." She gave me a wink. She motioned her finger slowly to come to her.

I stepped close to her and dropped my bag's to the floor. "Hey babe." I smiled and kissed her red lips.

"I'm sorry for being so weird lately." She said, and looked up in my eyes.

"No baby you don't worry about that. You are just fine!" I rubbed her small waist

"I've ignored you, and I haven't even kissed you more then like 5 time's, you are so good to me, and I've just treated you so bad." 

"You see baby, I understand that you are hurting, so I expected all that I didn't once have hurt feeling's" I smiled and kissed her. "But, you do need to catch up on so many kisses!"

I felt her smile while my lips were on her's. I've waited to see her smile again.

"Baby, let's just skip dinner, and let me love you." I slowly backed her into the wall.

Her eyes burned Passion into mine. She was beyond beautiful! Her strength made everything even more beautiful.

I couldn't wait to make her my wife.
