The Wolf in Me

Chapter 21 The Search

That night Skylur, Max, and I searched the woods.

Skylur lead us deeper into the woods, we sniffed the ground to find our wolf.

If there was one then there had to be more because Max told me one night when she couldn't sleep because of all the candy was that a lone wolf is a dead wolf.

About and hour in the tracking we were all getting impatient.

Final we all just rested be a large tree.

I sat down but got up quickly because Max was marking her territory on the tree.

I glanced over at Skylur and he was doing the same to a bush.

I walked over on a trail to signal the others that we need to keep looking.

Then my ears went up because I heard a SNAP behind me.

Max and Skylur stood behind me interested in what I was looking at.

I was about to turn around when something else stole my attention.

A big gray paw stepped out of the darkness.

His eyes were black and a dark line down his spin got my friends growling behind me.

He snarled at me, I stood my ground and dig my paws in the dirt.

His ears went back and went low to the ground.

He pounced at me but before he had a chance out of no where a huge black wolf jumped at him and pulled him to the ground holding him by the neck.

I took a few steps back as the two struggled with keeping the other down.

Final the black wolf released the gray wolf and he eyed us and knowing he was out numbered.

He ran off but before we could chase him the black wolf stood in our way.

He shook his head as if to tell us not to go after him.

I studied him, fur coat it was a dark and shiny.

His eyes were almost a gold/orange.

He was beautiful, he howled to tell us he's not a threat.

He took one last look at me and ran off into the darkness.

I followed the others out of the woods and shifted back outside my house.

After putting on our clothes I had questions.

"Who was that?" I asked.

Max looked over at her boyfriend, "That was Van" she said, "his the Alphas grandson."

"That's was Van?" I said, "wow, dose this mean one day he will be Alpha?"

"Yep," Skylur replied, " in a few days we will take you to the Alphas house to meet the rest of the pack."

"Okay," I said.

Max hugged Skylur bye and we climbed  back in our room.

Skylur jogged away and Max fell on the bottom bunk and passed out.

I took one last look out the window and saw the moon.

It was almost full.
