TRIGGER WARNING FOR THIS CHAPTER: there is an attempted assault scene in here it is not graphic no one is hurt but I should still say it in case someone feels uncomfortable.
Alina was starting to think that agreeing to Noah's invitation wasn't such a good idea after all. She hadn't really thought about it that much. In fact she was convinced that it would be easily done. Untill he told her to get ready and she answered that she was in fact ready to go. And then he started laughing.
"Oh my God you're serious." He had said after noticing the death glares she was giving him.
So that's why she was currently sitting in her room for over an hour and a half, along with Maggie, whom Noah had called for help. And despite all of her complaining she was actually really grateful to have her there. Maggie was surprisingly helpful and Alina was absolutely clueless when it came to dressing up. Stella was always the confident, girly one, with the sense of style. Alina just preferred her loose clothes. They were safe and comfortable.
It wasn't so much a confidence as it was a practical one. She just thought it was easier. She couldn't see it anyway so why bother?
Therefore it was only natural to feel uncomfortable while Maggie was touching her hair and face. She was wearing a dress of Stellas. She had a few of her clothes in her closet from all the times Stella had stayed over. It was unnaturally short, reaching half way up her thighs, but it wasn't tight. It fell perfectly on her body. She felt strangely exposed. Her arms as well as her chest were bare and Maggie had her wear a discreet necklace with a small glass drop hanging just below her collarbones.
She couldn't possibly know how it looked like, but Maggie had told her red was really beautiful on her.
"Are we done yet?" Alina asked after some time.
"Yes dear, let me just finish your make up." Maggie said with a kind smile. Alina sighed.
"I still think this is pointless." She said with a flat tone.
Maggie laughed.
"Oh Liney, getting dolled up from time to time isn't a bad thing. Every woman needs to dress nicely and go out every now and then. It's in our nature."
Alina let out a snort.
"Well either way," she said turning her face towards the ceiling so that Maggie could fix ber mascara. "thank you Maggie. You didn't have to do this."
"Of Course I did. And anyway it's always a pleasure to exercise my make up skills." She said and Alina heard the zipper of Maggie's purse close.
"There. All ready." Maggie said with a content voice. "I must say, I still got it." There was a playfulness in her voice that made Alina feel even more embarrassed about this whole thing.
Noah and Emerson were waiting outside for the past hour and she wasn't sure she wanted to go out. She felt really exposed and she didn't like the fact that Noah would see her like this.
"Are you sure it's okay? We can still wipe it all off and just pretend it never happened." she said standing awkwardly on her heels (a black pare of matte velvet high heels with a strap, that her mother had gotten her). She started pulling nervously at the ends of her dress, trying desperately to make it longer.
"Darling you look absolutely dashing. You don't have to worry. You will definitely take him by surprise." She told her with a sly smile.
Alina felt her cheeks getting warmer.
"Wh-What? I really don't know what you're talking about Maggie." She said laughing nervously. "Why would I need to surprise Noah? Why would I care? I don't care what Noah thinks. Why would you even-"
