Havolynne was weary that Colin was nearby, and that Charles planned on torturing him. She HEARD him say Colin would suffer.

She couldn't let that happen.

Havolynne tried getting up, and groaned in pain when she moved.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I see you're still alive there Havolynne," Charles said.
Colin sighed a bit of relief. At least she was okay. Alright, who was he kidding? Havolynne was NOT okay.
Charles looked at Colin, "NOW the FUN begins."
.
Charles smirked and turned to Havolynne. He kicked her as hard as he could and she rolled backwards, releasing a heart wrenching scream of pain.
Charles kicked her and kicked her, with more and more terrible screams, screams so piercing, so painful to even hear, screams of agony. And Havolynne couldn't move to help herself, and Colin couldn't help her.
"I've waited forever to do this," Charles grinned and continued kicking.
.
All Colin could do was watch.
.
Watch as Havolynne suffered, because of HIM.
.
Watch as his heart was practically being torn out of him.
.
Watch as Havolynne screamed in pain, dying a little more from each kick Charles delivered.
.
"STOP!!!" Colin yelled. "Do what you want to me!!! Just stop hurting her, please," he begged.
"I told you I'd make you suffer, Colin," Charles smirked, and continued giving Havolynne blow after blow on her sides, and blood starting to come out of her mouth.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Charles was going to kick Havolynne into the fast flowing river, but instead, a hard, rock wall appeared in his way.

"What the hell Ethan!" Charles yelled.

"What?! Do you WANT her to go where she'll heal faster?" Ethan yelled back.

"Well it would've been more interesting that way!" Charles argued.

Ethan and Charles had a stareoff, while Colin looked at poor Havolynne, crouched into a tight ball, her shirt stained red, and her eyes becoming dark.

"Fine, I'll get this over with," Charles said as kicked Havolynne so hard, she flew back into the wall, slammed her head, and fell, laying motionless as blood began to pool.

"NO!!!" Colin screamed.

He couldn't let her die, he couldn't just sit and watch, no, Charles had to pay.

.

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
.
Havolynne couldn't describe the pain she was in.
Every kick Charles delivered, was like another stab. She finally started curling into a ball, to try to block the kicks, but they kept coming.
And she couldn't move.
Havolynne knew Charles enjoyed it. She had always been stronger than him, even when he discovered the Magic World first. Passing her up to become Circle 8 was just a small feat, she knew Charles wanted to USE it, and demonstrate all his power, fueled by the humiliation he went through, with a smaller girl, who was stronger than him.
And now Havolynne was paying the price.
For a brief moment the torture stopped, and she heard the familiar arguing of Charles and Ethan.
Havolynne wanted to believe that Ethan was stalling her time, time to heal a little. A part of her KNEW he was.
But there was no way he anticipated what would Charles do.
Havolynne felt another massive kick to the side. She screamed in agony until she hit something hard, and a gasp escaped her lips.
Next thing she knew she was on the ground, and blacking out. Dark spots danced in her eyes. And a warm liquid trickling from the corner of her mouth.
Her eyes remained opened just a crack, enough for her to watch Colin, and what happened next.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

.

 Colin didn't know how it happened.

.

Colin was angry; angry at Charles, at Ethan, at EVERYTHING. Havolynne lay motionless, and he couldn't do anything because he was chained to the ground.

If he was feeling better, he might've said he was technically 'grounded,' but this was no time to joke.

HAVOLYNNE WAS DYING FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!

Colin HAD to do something, he couldn't BARE the thought of Havolynne dying... NO! Colin's head jerked up, and his metal chains melted. He stood with an aura of light surrounding him, and his eyes were bright with light.

He would NOT let Havolynne down!

He would NOT let her die!

"Looks like the Heart of Light just got a little brighter," Charles said, as he shifted into the dark figure they were used to seeing.

Colin remembered Havolynne telling him not to feed his Fire with Anger, but with Light, and he also remembered how his heart broke a little seeing Havolynne sobbing beside the stream because of CHARLES. And with one more look at Havolynne, lying still on the ground, with a bruise forming on her head, and her shirt and the rocks beneath her soaked with blood, he couldn't help but let that anger rage. But he also let his Light shine.

He will win this for Havolynne.

And Connor.

.

.

Wait, where IS Connor?
