Trinity pov:

I watched as Papa ran out of the house after Ma as Paulmer walked inside. I bit my lip and looked to my right to see Demetres hide his face in his hands. Things were going just as planned. I just needed to get Derek out of the picture and I knew exactly how to accomplish that.

I started to hyperventilate and headed towards the river. Kairi was going to need help getting out of this problem. But how "great" that I have Demetre and Marnie on my side of the debate.

How could Markus possibly deny his beta, omega, and his mate......if they ever found out. I shivered at the thought. But it was too late now. We were in too deep.

Kairi pov:

I was starting to sweat and that was just gross. The closer we grew to the river the more stupid and unreasonable my excuse was. And my status as omega didn't help my cause at all. At this point anything could happen and I was praying that the odds would be in my favor.

I tightened my arms around Derek's shoulders and buried my face in the side of his neck. I don't think I'd ever been so nervous in my life. I breathed in deeply as we walked over to the group whom were all standing and arguing in a big circle. Derek and I joined then and everyone quite down. I hopped off his back anti Marnie came over to hug me.

"Don't worry. I have your back hun." She whispered in my ear and she grabbed my hand. I looked over to Markus and he was glaring at her but she looked over and smiled at me as if he were having no effect on her.

"As you all know, we are here because of the broken law. Wolves never attack humans. Whether they are one of us or not."

"Markus it was not her fault and you know that!"

"Marlene!" He hissed through his teeth. But she stood there with her foot planted. Not taking her eye away from his gaze. The atmosphere started to get really intense. I looked around the group for my sister and I spotted her on the other side of the circle. I couldn't read her blank expression. Demetre wasn't here, and neither was Paulmer, but I hadn't expected to in the first place.

"You know the law Marlene. I can't just make an exception for her because she's my friend."

"She did nothing wrong! Tell him Kairi!" I heard my name and I froze. Oh no. Here we go. I opened my mouth to speak, but it wast until Derek intertwined our fingers together that I grew a little bit more calm.

Here we go. "Im willing to pay the consequences for my actions." It was silent and then all heck broke loose. I actually felt rather happy to know that all these people, my friends, had my back no matter what. I warmed my heart to have been able to be part of such a family.

Derek's hands tightened around mine and I know he was trying to keep his anger in check. He had to keep a clear head and couldn't just side with me because we were dating. He was the beta of this pack and he had a duty to them. I loved him for that. I looked over to see his face. His eyes were shut closed. I'm sure he was praying that I don't have to leave.

The consequence for breaking the wolf code here was being exiled out of the pack. Becoming a lone wolf and most even moved on to become a rogue. The worst betrayal, even if they aren't apart of a pack. It was a betrayal to all packs by becoming a rogue.
