I woke up to the sound of waves crashing against the shore, and birds chirping and calling to each other. I felt a breeze brush against my bare arm. I opened my eyes. The bright sun shone through the bamboo blinds. The air smelled like flowers and sea water. Ethan was still asleep next to me. I leaned over and kissed his cheek. I got out of bed and walked into the kitchen where I made a cup of tea and went and sat on the porch. It really is beautiful here...sunny, bright flowers, the blue ocean, it's great.
Ethan's P.O.V.
I reached over to run my fingers through Lexi's hair, but I didn't feel her there. I opened my eyes and was blinded by the sun. Oh yeah, we're in Fiji now. She probably got up to have breakfast. I sat up and felt the heat from the sun on my chest. I looked at my phone, and the time read 9:58. I got up and walked over to the open window, which over looked the beach. There were people having coffee on the beach. Lexi doesn't like coffee. I thought when I saw them. I have all these random little facts about her stored in my head. It's kinda funny. I guess they're not that random if I remember them. She eats her pizza with a fork. Her favorite song has been the same since she was little. She doesn't like mangoes because of the texture. I don't know why I even remember these- the little things. I guess I just want to be the best husband for her. I walked into the living room and saw that she had made tea-cause I told you, she doesn't like coffee. I looked out onto the porch to see my beautiful wife sitting on the outdoor patio furniture, looking at the ocean. Her wavy brown hair hung past her shoulders, moving slightly from the breeze.
Lexi's P.O.V.
"Good morning gorgeous." I heard Ethan's voice from behind me. I turned around and smiled.
"Morning Eth." I said back. He sat down in the chair next to me and leaned over and kissed me. It was this moment, when the sparks went off. They always did. This was one of the reasons I fell in love with him. There's always those sparks between us.
"What do you want to do today?" He asked me.
"Everything." I said. We both laughed. "How about going to the beach? And then there's this little market I heard was open today!" I said excitedly.
"Sounds like fun to me." Ethan smiled.
"I'm gonna go get ready then." I said, as I stood up. Ethan grabbed my arm.
"Wait. Let's enjoy the view right now and relax. Then you can get ready to go." He said. I sat back down. He's right, we aren't in a hurry.
"Do you wanna go to the market first?" I asked him.
"Sure, then we'll spend the rest of the day at the beach." He replied. We just sat watching the waves crash onto the white sand for a little while.
"How do you think Emma is?" I asked, after a few minutes of silence.
"Babe, I'm sure she's perfectly fine." He said reassuringly. "Call your mom, if you're really worried."
"No, no. I'll call her sometime tonight or tomorrow." I said.
"I'm gonna get ready now, ok?" I said, getting up.
"Okay. Hurry back." He winked.
"Oh, I will." I smiled. I went inside, through the living room and kitchen to our room. I opened my suitcase and decided on a romper I had just got a month or so ago and sandals.
