Chapter 5

"Unnie!" The familiar voice of Seulgi's cousin echoed the room. Jimin and Seulgi immediately let go of each other's hand. Seulgi's cousin stopped for a moment and assessed the situation

"Was I interrupting?" Jimin recognised the girl, Kim Yeri. She's been at the station a few times, both during and off duty.

"No," Both Jimin and Seulgi said at the same time. Earning a weird look from Yeri, she seemed unconvinced but soon let it go

"I came here as soon as I heard." Seulgi's cousin walked over to her side and held her hand. Seulgi felt different. Just a couple minutes ago that very hand was holding his partner's hand and now it was holding her cousin's and she could help but miss her partner's hand. "Well after my shift,"

"Welcome back detective." A voice from the door caught everyone's attention. The man was in a police officers uniform, same as Yeri's. Seulgi looked at Yeri with questioing eyes

Jimin has seen the male officer before. Officer Jeon Jungkook, he was one of the officers that volunteered extra hours in finding Seulgi. His confusion as to what the connection was between him and his partner's has was no apparent.

"Thank you officer.." Seulgi trailed off leaving the officer to response with his name

"Jeon Jungkook." Oh him, Seulgi's lip turned up a little. She knew of him. Her cousin never stopped complaining about her partner, this guy. "I'm Yeri's partner. Patrol partner."

"Are you feeling okay? Anything I can do?" Seulgi turned her attention to her cousin. She knew Yeri was just trying to deviate away from where the conversation was headed.

"Excuse me but visiting hours are done for today." The nurse came in right when Jungkook was about to close the door. Glancing at her cousin Yeri kissed Seulgi's cheek mumbling that she'll come first thing tomorrow.

"I will too," Jimin brought Seulgi's attention to him after her cousin and her partner stepped out. "I'm gonna be the first face you see everyday for a while," he winked at her as a silly grin spread on his face. He was about to leave when he felt her hand on his wrist.

When he turned to her, she didn't say anything. But her eyes were pleading him to stay.

"Sir," the nurse was waiting for him to leave. He looked at the nurse, giving her a smoldering look. He knew it worked when he saw the faint red on the nurse's cheeks

"In a few okay?" He gave her his winning smile. The smile he used to get what he wanted. The one time he tried to give someone that smile and it didn't work was the very first day he met his partner. Since then Seulgi always described that smile as his 'thing', his 'thing' that can make anyone do whatever he wanted them to do. It always works, this nurse was no exception. She muttered an okay and left the room

Jimin turned his attention to the woman holding his wrist. He was waiting for her to say something.

"I feel safe... With you here..." Jimin couldn't help but smile at his partner's words. After almost 3 years of working side by side this is the first time she's said something like this to him. Granted the situation's fcked up he couldn't help but to feel happy inside.

"Don't," Seulgi noticed the silly grin he had on. She had an idea of what was running through his head. She tried to bury her face on her hands but once her hand had contact with her temple a sharp pain hit her. Wincing at the pain she remembers the cut right above her eyebrow, it was small enough to not need stitches but still enough to bleed and hurt a lot.

"I'll stay right here. I won't leave you alone. Okay?" Jimin crouched down to her bed to meet her eyes. He held her hands in his, smiling at her. "Now get some rest," Seulgi nodded and positioned herself on her bed. Jimin noticed her moving close to one side of the bed. He met her eyes again, he was confused

"Can you.. Just till I fall asleep," Jimin still had no idea what she was trying to say. "Can you hold me?" Jimin's mind went blank for a minute. His partner just asked him to hold her to sleep? Did he hear her right? Seulgi saw him perplexed by her words and instantly wanted to recant what she just said. But before she can get a word out Jimin began to take off his jacket. He climbed up the bed and slowly positioned himself next to her, careful not to hurt her in any way.

Letting his arm fall just a few inches above her head, Jimin stayed at his side, staring at her. Seulgi looked up to him and smiled. Letting her hands travel to his chest, she nuzzled on the crook of his neck. She felt his tense up but she ignored it when she felt her other arm wrap around her waist pulling her closer to him.

She was thankful for him being there. Thankful that he was being so gentle. God knows she's been hurting so much for the past two weeks. She needed this. She needed to feel safe and warm. Which is exactly what Jimin was giving her.

Jimin didn't even realize it but he fell fast asleep as soon as both of them settled. After two weeks of barely getting any sleep, now having her safely in his arms, he relaxed. Finally got some rest.

Back in his hiding place, he felt lonely. 24 barely passed and he already missed his little bird.

"I knew you'd make it," He stared at his computer screen. Still images of Seulgi from when she was with him were on display. Countless of stolen pictures of Seulgi out and about were also posted on the walls of his room. If anyone saw his room, everyone would think he's a stalker.

"Not true," he's convinced himself so many times before that it was love. Love that made him do these things. He loves Seulgi and he believes they are destined to be together.

"You have a lot of visitors. Of course you did," He chuckled to himself. "You are loved by so many.." He stroke his computer screen as if he was actually touching her. "But none of them will love you like I do."

"You're mine and you will find your way back to me. I will fix you, I will help you just like I did the days you were here with me. I mended your broken wings. I will fix your entire entity. And soon... Soon we will fly away together."
