Chapter 8

"What the hell are you doing here?!" Namjoon was shocked to find Seulgi standing at his office doorway. He looked pass her and saw Jimin and Taehyung looking guilty

"They had nothing to do with this. It was all my decision," Seulgi came to the rescue of the two detectives behind her. Namjoon looked a couple times between his detectives before telling Seulgi to come in and close the door behind her

"You shouldn't be here. You should be in the hospital resting. Healing." Namjoon helped Seulgi by grabbing the jacket she took off and putting it neatly on the free chair at the side of his desk.

"Did you forget that thing you always said about hospitals? The longer you stay the sicker you get." Seulgi responded. Her response brought a smile to Namjoon's face. He did use to always say that. Said it every single subordinate that got hurt in the line of duty.

"Well if not the hospital then stay at home, IA still has to clear you,"

"Already did. They cleared me this morning when you left," Namjoon glance at the time. He didn't realize it been more than 6 hours since he left the hospital. Guess the job really just takes his time away.

"Look Cap.. No.. Oppa, I know you just want to protect me right now but you know me. Work gets my mind off my problems. I need to get back out there and work. Its the only way for me to really get better."

Namjoon was stuck on Seulgi calling him oppa, she hasn't done it in years. Sure growing up she called him oppa all the time because he was her brother's best friend but after being assigned under his squad he never heard oppa again. Always just Cap or Captain, sometimes even just Namjoon.

"You called me oppa just now?" Seulgi smiled at him. She knew that was probably the only thing he heard. "You haven't called me that since you were assigned to my squad."

"Well I really need you behind me on this one." Deja vu she thought. "I need my legal guardian's blessing," She teased him. Namjoon became Seulgi's legal guardian after her brother passing, she was a few months short until she was a legal adult so according to the law she still need a legal guardian. So Namjoon was the guy, as being the only adult present in her life at that time, he became ever legal guardian. He always hated the term, made him feel old even though he only had a few years on top of Seulgi.

"I won't go on rouge missions, and I'll run everything by you first,I'll play by your rules." Namjoon seemed to thinking about it. To be perfectly honest he whole heartedly agreed with her. He just was still worried for her safety. The guy who abducted her is still out there. He can still strike back.

"You're on dest duty," Suelgi's smile widened. "No interrogations,"

"Okay," Seulgi said enthusiastically. Namjoon walked over to Seulgi side giving her a hug

"And I want someone with you all the time. This guy is still out there and I don't want to risk anything," Namjoon kissed the top of her head. It was more comforting for him then her. Now hugging her he knew she was safe and that no matter he won't let anything happen to her again

"Guess who just dropped the case back in our hands." Their Sargent informed the squad

"You should know, we found out who our John Doe is." Joy informed her brother. "Don't hold your breath though, he's squeaky clean. A straight arrow."

"That doesn't make sense," Jimin was confused.

"Why? We already know he isn't the one who abducted Kang, he was an accessory." Yoongi passed by the siblings casually joining in the conversation
