I watched as Luna stood in front of me grinning, she backed up slowly, clutching her makeup brush in her fingers. "Whoa!" Ashlyn gaped! "I've only seen you look like this once in your whole lifetime!"

"When was that?" Luna asked, raising a brow.

"Back in high school, we wanted to give Jake a boner, and they went to this concert," Ashlyn explained, making me blush at the memory. "I swear he couldn't take his eyes off of her," she finished off with a shrug.

"So this is going to work?" Luna asked, her face laced with excitement.

"Yes! This is definitely going to work!" Ashlyn smiled mischievously.

"Oh, but don't give in right away, Emma," Luna added. "Make him apologize first!" She said sternly.

For some reason, this made Ashlyn scoff. "Fuck that!" She waved. "Make him beg." Luna laughed, and Ashlyn gave me one more once over. "Let me hear you say, heyyyyyy Mrs. Avery!"

After my makeover, Ashlyn came up with this sick plan for all of us to go out to a place I knew Jake would be with his "boys".

At first, I was a little reluctant to go, but a sick part of me wanted to give Jake a taste of his own medicine. I just wanted to make him feel how I felt, even for one night. So I finally agreed, and we went to this club that was downtown.

"Wait, Em!" Luna shouted before we went inside. "Let me take you some photos for the gram!" She exclaimed, whipping out her phone. I happily played along, posing for the camera even though I really didn't like taking pictures.

When we finally entered the club, I didn't even bother looking for Jake, I went straight to the bar. All I wanted was to take some shots, and pretend like my life wasn't going to shit.

"Emma, what the hell?" Ashlyn asked, following behind me. "What are you doing?"

"I'm getting a drink," I told her, raising my hand for the bartender.

"We are supposed to be looking for your fiancé," she said matter-of-factly.

"We're supposed to be having fun," Luna cut in, and I nodded my head in agreement.

"Ugh," Ashlyn scoffed, rolling her eyes. "Fine, can we get three shots please?" She asked when the bartender finally came over.

"Make it a double," I smiled politely, earning looks from them both.

"Emma..." Luna trailed off.

"Are you sure about this?" Ashlyn asked. "What if you get drunk?"

"Yeah, seriously dude, you don't even drink," Luna imputed, making a face.

"Let me live!" I shouted over the music, taking both of the shots and immediately regretting it; my head started to spin so fast I almost fell.

All the lights suddenly started to blink faster, as if my head wasn't spinning enough, and the music just compelled me to dance. I somehow made my way to the dance floor, then started to move freely to the beat.

A slow grin spread to my face when I noticed my friends shrug, and then happily joined in. I have to admit, I hated every minute of it, but it was the most free I've ever felt in my entire life. Is this why he liked it so much? I asked myself.
