Mari had been playing Overwatch with her cousin, talking over Skype video-chat. Her cousin had invited one of his friends, Anthony, to play with them.

They'd been playing for about 2 hours, up until everyone's dinnertime. Even though Mari lived on her own, she still enjoyed having a dinner time set for herself.

Mari wasn't really keeping track of time, until she noticed it was 7:00.

"Sorry guys, I gotta go." She said to the boys, sadly.

"Really?" Anthony asked over the Skype call.

"I'm hungry." Mari replied. "Can you blame me?"

"I guess not." Anthony said.

Mari's cousin nodded in agreement. "We should eat too, Anthony."

"Fine." Anthony said, defeated. "But I want to play more tomorrow. Does anyone object?"

"Sounds awesome!" Mari exclaims. "I'll see you guys then."

She left the Skype call, and made sure to add Anthony on Skype.

She went to make her dinner. She'd decided to just make some pasta, since her friend Noah had given her an absurd amount recently. His reasoning was that his roommates, Keith and Shayne, couldn't handle the amount of pasta he kept in the pantry, so he gave it away to all his friends.

Just as she put the pasta in the pot, she got a notification on her phone, on the Skype app. It was from Anthony.

'Hey, just wanted to tell you that I had a lot of fun playing with you today.' it read. 'I'm excited to play again tomorrow.'

Mari grinned, before typing a response.

'Same to you!' She replied. 'I'm happy my cousin introduced me to you.'

She sent it, then turned her attention back to her pasta.

As she ate, she continued to message Anthony. They talked about themselves a little more than they had on the Skype call. They talked about their jobs and hobbies. As they'd both guessed, video games were a passion for both of them.

For the next two weeks or so, they played video games together every night, with or without Mari's cousin.

Mari had wanted to visit her cousin already, and she knew this would be an opportunity to meet Anthony in person. She texted her cousin that night, asking if she could come visit him. Of course, he said yes. They made arrangements for her to come on Friday. It was a Wednesday now.

She packed her stuff and set it aside. She had work today, which she was fine with. She taught a children's ballet class, and also was taking some online classes to be a computer programmer.

She worked throughout the day, telling the ballet school's owner that she was taking a few vacation days, as well as notifying her online instructor that she wouldn't be doing her online classes for a few days.

On Thursday, since she'd taken her days off of work until Tuesday, she just did some more of her online classes. She taken the days off until Tuesday, but from Friday to Tuesday.

When she finished up her classes, she made sure she had everything packed, and laid out her outfit for the next day. A t-shirt, a letterman jacket, and jeans. She also chose to wear comfortable sneakers, which she wore every day. She had a separate bag of her gaming stuff, such as her computer and some games.

She fell asleep that night excited, and woke up the next morning even more.

She put her luggage into her car after getting dressed. It was a 2 and a half hour trip minus the traffic, and she was planning on getting breakfast on the road. She climbed into her car and went on her way.

She grabbed some breakfast from a fast food place, but didn't bother to eat it there. She knew there'd be traffic, so she'd eat it while she was waiting.

As she expected, there was plenty of traffic. She ate her breakfast, and had finished it when the traffic cleared up and she could go. She silently congratulated herself on her good timing.

The rest of the drive went fairly smoothly. When Mari stopped for gas, she texted her cousin to see if he could invite Anthony to his place, so she could surprise him as a bonus for coming. Of course, her cousin did.

She made it to her cousin's apartment in close to three hours in total, which was fine with her.

She grabbed her stuff, locked her car, and headed to the apartment. She rung the doorbell that her cousin had installed, and waited.

The door opened to a face she'd been excited to see.

"Mari?" A confused Anthony asked, looking up from his phone.

He didn't realize what he'd said at first, but when he did, he pulled her into a tight hug. She hugged back, laughing to herself at the gesture. It was kind of adorable to her.

"Why wasn't I told that you were coming?" Anthony asked, being jokingly stubborn.

"It was a surprise." Mari responded, chuckling.

"I'd have to say, you're one great surprise." Anthony said with a wink.

Mari blushed a little bit, but her purple hair covered it.

"So where is my cousin, anyway?" She asked.

"He had to go run some errands." Anthony said. "And he's bringing home some pizza."

"From where?" Mari inquires.

"This really awesome place nearby that my friend David works at." Anthony says. "You'll love it, don't worry."

"So do you wanna do anything?" Mari asks.

"We could watch TV?" Anthony suggested.

"Which channel?" Mari questioned.

"Food Network?" Anthony replied.

"Let's do it." Mari said.

They sat on the couch and turn on the TV. They were sitting for a while when Mari rested her head on Anthony's shoulder. He put an arm around her. Neither seemed phased by it, so they stayed like this.

Finally, Mari's cousin got back, about an hour and a half after Mari had officially gotten there.

He noticed Mari and Anthony sitting on the couch together.

"Called it." He whispered to himself. "I knew I did something right."

He brought them their pizza, not wanting to disturb them. Mari gave him a quick hug when he came over.

Her cousin was glad his plan to get Mari and Anthony together was working.
