Chapter two

"Yaten, you fool!" A voice bellows out from the deepest darkness of the chamber, "I bear in mind that I had told you to track her down, not to confront her."

Yaten is kneeling and looks down, unable to face his master.

"Yes, master."

"The time isn't there yet. Let her rest for now. We have to wait. There's no need to rush."

"I understand, sir."

"Take Zeke with you and follow her. You are dismissed."

Yaten gets up, turns and leaves. When he's outside, he slams his fist against the wall of the hall.

"Damn." He mumbles hatefully. He is offended and he hates it.

"I would look out if I were you." He hears someone saying.

"What do you want, Zeke?" His annoyance is now clearly audible in his voice. He doesn't have to turn around to know who it is.

"Nothing." Zeke smiles, "I'm only warning you."

"You're the one who should watch your steps. Killing a group of innocent people. What were you thinking? You should praise yourself lucky that He hasn't found out yet."

"Come now," The man shrugs nonchalantly, "We aren't sensitive, are we? Still, isn't it the purpose of our existence? Killing?"

"Our purpose is bringing that girl to the master when the time is there!" Yaten rages.

"I know!" Zeke replies uninterested. He walks on and waves the remark away. Yaten just narrows his eyes.

Shakey carries some branches of a tree with him. Night has completely fallen. Stars are visible and spread over the whole dark sky even though some trees block the view.

"This should do it." He says. He throws the branches on the ground. Afterwards he picks up two big stones. Thereafter, he scrapes them against each other to create a fire. When there is a little flame, he softly blows. I watch him with my arms around my pulled up legs. I am lost in my thoughts. Thinking about what has happened a couple of hours ago. Yaten. I'm wondering why he had left so suddenly, but especially why he had appeared.

"Finally! It's burning!" Shakey exclaims with a smile. He holds his hands near the fire to warm them up. I do the same thing. It's pretty cold at night after all. The warmth is sensible on my skin. I enjoy it.

"Here you go." He hands over a blanket to block away the cold air from my shoulders.

"Thank you."

"You must be hungry." He affirms while opening his backpack. I haven't noticed that I'm actually starving. He gives me a sandwich and I happily take a bite.

"Where are we going to now?" I ask before gnawing on another piece. He takes out a map and comes closer to me to show it.

"This is the nearest city," He points to a large spot, "We'll be safe there for a while. Azul city is big, so we might receive answers and that guy won't find us that easily."

He's right. "How long will it take us to get there?"

"Two days. Maybe less, maybe more." He rubs his chin.

I nod. All of a sudden, energy is boiling in me. We are about to find answers! I have already finished dinner when I recall something.

"Shakey? You haven't told me yet how you blew Yaten out of the room."
