Chapter nine
I take two stones and scrape them against each other. I want to create a campfire. I've viewed how Shakey did it plenty of times. I frown. Why isn't it working? I try harder. The only thing I can obtain is a small spark.
"Stupid rocks." I mumble annoyed to myself. I suppress the urge to give up and throw them away.
"Calm down," Shakey sooths me, "Let me do it." He must have seen how I was failing to lit the fire. I blush, hand him the stones and allow him to do it once again. When the branches start to burn, we heat up the sausages we had bought. After dinner, I study the map. There are many towns and cities we haven't visited. I hope we will one day.
"Shakey? I have a question." I say after a while.
"What is it?" he moves himself closer to me.
"Wouldn't we have travelled faster from Tirkia City to Testa City through the Hav Sea?"
"Indeed," He nods, "But you need a ship."
"What's a ship?"
"That's a huge...," He searches for the right word, "thing that sails through the waters."
I think about it. "Why didn't we use one?"
He rubs the back of his head. "It's hard to explain, but I'll try. A ship for people to travel on is rare in the Eastern Region. The boats around here are used for transport of goods. If I can recall correctly, there are three ships in Testa city which go to the other three Regions. However, we might have to get on one if we won't find more answers in Testa City."
A part of me hopes that I will be able to solve my questions here, yet another part wants to set sail.
"We'll see." I simply answer.
Since we are exhausted, we go to bed early. Tomorrow we'll get to Jord Town. In my dreams, I see the huge castle which I had seen the first night we camped. Dark clouds are floating across the sky. An anxious feeling overwhelms me. I stare at the unreachable fortress. All of a sudden, I hear an deafening scream. Everything in my dream fades away in black. I try to reach out, but there's nothing there. I'm all alone.
I wake up. Sweat is dropping down my face. I heavily pant. As I get up, I view how the sun starts rising. It illuminates the sky. I take a short walk and climb up in a tree. I gaze at the clouds. I try my best to forget about my dream, but somehow I can't. During the time I sit there, I wonder if anything still matters. Should I really continue to find more about myself? Many times I've thought about giving up. Yet, I can't. Even though I'm together with Shakey, I acknowledge that I'm not able to find a home. Not until I know who I am and what the master from Yaten and Zeke wants from me. An hour passes by, when Shakey wakes up and frees me from my pondering.
"Good morning." He yawns. We share a breakfast before we decide to go farther down the road.

Tessa quickly paces through the corridor. She barges into the room. Neither Leonie nor Nami look up.
"I heard you found something." Tessa demands an answer.
"At last we did," Leonie turns around, "Although we couldn't find anything about Zeke, we did about Warren. I'm not sure if you remember him."
"I do and that's great." She bends over the papers at the table.
"He's situated near Jubel City." Nami says, "Apparently he's constantly on the move, so it's hard to determine his whereabouts."
"Thank our men there. Meanwhile I'll be on the phone." Without waiting for any reply, Tessa grabs the notes and leaves. When she's back in her office, she takes out her communicator and dials the number. She knows that she can't hesitate. They might be in grave danger.
