This is just a little AU that suddenly popped into my head when I was watching Let's Discuss: Bad God AU. This is not really inspired by it, but it was what got my wheels turning. Keep in mind that this is still in its infancy. I hope you enjoy.
Everyone knows that there are some nations who have lost their parents or guardians. What most don't know is that they're still with their children and/or grandchildren.
When these nations died, their souls bind with their children's. This creates both an emotional, physical and mental link between them. Part of their personality is then forever connected to their children. They will actually speak through their children. What I mean by that is a voice that doesn't belong to the person will come out, that is the voice of the ancient.
Some have split multiple times, like Britannia. She has four children and thus is split between four bodies.
