Come on eyelashes, work with me...
"Aha! Finally finished with you!" I exclaim after finishing my mascara. I drop it back in my makeup bag and look into the mirror, smiling at my reflection. I had done a great job on my makeup this morning, especially since it's a Monday morning. I love to look nice, especially since everyone looks up to me at school.
They all see me as the intelligent, sweet, beautiful popular girl at school. They make me out to be perfect, which I'm obviously not. Everyone has their flaws, I think people forget about mine.
"Zelda! If you don't leave within the next couple minutes you're going to be late for school!" I hear my dad bellow at me from downstairs.
"If you say so dad!" I yell back. I walk over to my closet, grabbing and slipping on my tan Sperry's. I then walk over to my body mirror looking at myself one last time before leaving. My light blue, long sleeve shirt went with my dark skinny jeans and my Sperry's completed the outfit. I look at my makeup once again to admire my job well done. It really brought out my eyes, which I've always loved about myself.
Grabbing my phone, I walk out of my room to head to school.
Walking into the school, I'm greeted with many "hey Zelda!" or "hi!"s while walking through the halls to my locker.
"Morning Zelda!" I hear from behind me. I turn around to see one of my best friends, Belle Faye. Back in third grade, no one would be my friend since I was so shy. But she then noticed my shyness, became my friend and made me open up. Without her, I don't know where I'd be right now.
The name fits her, belle meaning beautiful in French. Her long, strawberry blonde hair that looks ginger, flowing down her shoulders, her pale green eyes with flecks of chocolate brown. Her very thin but fit body, pale freckles dotting her face, pink plump lips, and a winning personality to complete her. I honestly don't know why everyone sort of forgets about her, she's absolutely gorgeous. She deserves more attention than she receives.
"Morning Belle!" I reply, closing my locker and giving her a quick hug.
"So first of all, I wanna say that you look amazing today!"
"Oh stop Belle," I respond, smiling shyly.
"Don't be so humble!" She says happily, nudging me lightly. "And second, I might not be able to hang out this weekend. I was told that we're going to be assigned a huge project in English."
"Are you serious?" I groan.
"Serious. Mr. Marks will explain more when class starts."
"Let's hope it's not-" I start to say, before I feel myself collide with something. I stumble back with a grunt, about to fall but luckily Belle catches me. I look in front of me to see what I had run into. I see a boy, sitting on the ground dazed from the collision and a pile of books and papers surrounding him.
"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry! Here let me help you clean this up." I immediately offer, then crouching on the ground and beginning to pile his papers neatly.
"N-No! I-I have it under control!" I hear him stutter. I look up, meeting a pair of bright green eyes, almost the color of emeralds which is no exaggeration, and short but messy brunette hair. My mouth opens a bit from surprise of seeing this new kid for the first time in my life. He breaks eye contact from me, frantically piling his papers together once more.
"Are you sure you don't-" I start to ask, but he stands up with his books and papers and quickly walks away without another word. I turn to see him walk through double doors and up the staircase, probably to his class.
