Ella's POV
The sirens rang out, filling my ears with a horrendous sound. I somehow managed to yell over the noise.
"GET TO MY MOM'S CLOSET!" I yelled, my voice slightly shaking. "I'LL MEET YOU THERE." I grabbed the dogs and ran for the closet. I slammed it shut behind me. Before I could get a word out, he grabbed my waist and crashed his lips on mine. I kissed back, and pulled my arms around his neck. We let go after what seemed like an eternity and we both sat down.
(Time skip)
I heard the back door slam and I texted my mom to let her know where I was. She gave us the all-clear and my mom insisted that Jake stay with us for the night because she couldn't chance him getting caught outside during a storm.
After a very late dinner due to storms, I decided to call it a day. I had just gotten comfortable in my bed when I saw my phone light up. Instinctively, I checked to see who it was. It was from Jake. The text read: Mind if I join you? I replied with a "Sure" before locking my phone and setting it gently on the nightstand.
Within seconds, my door was shadowed my a toned body, covered solely by sweatpants, that belonged to none other than Jacob Parkson. I scooted over, and he moved his warm body closer to mine. I came to rest with my head on his shoulder, our bodies leaned towards each other. It wasn't long before the romantic spell of silence was broken.
"Ella Grace Woods," he announced,"I have loved you from the day I met you and I don't think I'll stop loving you until every star in the sky is dead." I blushed at this. "Will you be mine?" he asked. My eyes grew wide.
"Always and forever." I replied as calmly as possible, my voice unwavering. "But can we keep it between us for a while?" I asked.
"Sure." He looked down at me. "It'll be our little secret" He said. And with this, he kissed my forehead and rested his chin on the top of my head, pulling me closer. The scent of his cologne wafted over me, pulling me to the brink of sleep.
Our little secret.
