Ella's P.O.V
"Class, you will be working on a project that is worth 6 test grades and 3 daily grades, and there's no time to get distracted, so I've picked your partners for you."
Oh, great I think to myself. My name is Ella Woods and I'm 17. My olive skin goes perfectly with my messy brown curls and my freckles stretch from one emerald eye to the other. Most people would call me drop-dead gorgeous, and according to all of my friends, they're not wrong. I get called a lot of things, whether it be by jealous girls or desperate boys. For one thing, I get called Princess by a person that I particularly despise. Jake Parkson. He's 6'2, with mud brown hair and hazel eyes that make every girl in our grade melt. But-unlike them- I don't see that. I see him for what he is. A filthy, lying, cheating-how do I say it, hoebag.
"Miss Woods, you would do well to pay attention to what I'm saying" Mrs. Hall drawled. I snapped back to reality. "I trust you know what we were talking about before you joined the fairies and unicorns in dream-world?" This elicited an outburst of laughter from the class, especially Jake. I hate him.
"Sorry, Mrs.Hall. I'm afraid I don't." I said patiently and calmly, praying she wouldn't beat down on me with the force of thousand hurricanes.
"Well, I appreciate the politeness, so you will not be serving detention, but I was just assigning partners." Her eyes scanned the list. "Miss Woods, it appears you will be partnered with Mister Jacob Parkson for this project." The look on Jake's face turned from amusement to bewilderment as I shot him a sideways glare. If I haven't said it before, I'm saying it now. I hate him.
