Looking for Distraction

"A witch?"
I stared at him. "What?" "Well, witches are the only species that can use their strength and reflexes in both forms. So I just thought..." I looked at him confused. Then I just turned around, opened the panel and turned the area back to normal. Dom shielded his eyes from the sudden change of light. I opened the door and left. The crowd that had watched, made way for me, as I headed towards another room for target training.

Picking up a bow, I quickly nocked in an arrow and fired at a moving target. I was in a simulation where demons and hellhounds came at me. I set the difficulty high so they were even faster than normal. I fired arrow after arrow, taking everyone down with fierce precision. Once my arrows were emptied out, I reached for the throwing knifes. Hellhounds had a weak spot right in the eye. Demons were different, they had many powers so I had to dodge a lot and concentrate on throwing the knife just right so they wouldn't be able to get close enough to fight me hand to hand. I tried to keep my head empty but what this damn boy said wouldn't get out of my head. I never really thought about it. About me being so strong even though I was in my normal form. He was right, only witches were able to use their powers in their human form. Damn! Why have I never seen this?
The next knife I threw sliced straight through a hellhound and beheaded a demon. I did have strength that was, as others would say, superhuman. But I was a demon! This didn't make any sense! I missed the next demon. Taking the opportunity, he went straight for my throat. I barely managed to twist my body out of harm's way and land a kick right in his private area. The demon was clearly shook. His bright red eyes bulged out of his head. I used this second to draw the sword that was strapped to my back and behead him.
There are only two ways to kill a demon: beheading or removal of the heart.

I was a demon! Nothing else! I heard someone coming into the room but I didn't care. My back ripped open, revealing a set of bloody leather wings. Horns grew out of my skull and shadows danced around, as I lit my virtual enemies on fire, pierced them with light and lasered them apart. All without moving an inch. Invisible hands held them in place and pure light boiled the living hell out of them. Quite literally.
I stopped using my powers and went full in. Turning the difficulty as high, as it got, I jumped right into my enemies, turning them into nothing but shreds. My nails were sharp, slicing through fur and flesh. My short white hair danced around my horns like a wheat field in a storm, as my hands, knifes and feet landed hit after hit, demolishing anything in my way. No human could match my speed, I was but a blur in their eyes, turning redder every second, as blood covered every inch of my body. Virtual blood of course.
