I felt his warmth against my back. His arms held me tight. I started to relax, just to stiffen up again, as he blew on my neck. I shreeked and tried to wiggle out of his grip. Nate just laughed and turned me around. His face was so close! I could see every detail. My inner demon seemed to activate since my vision got sharper and I noticed tiny things about his face like the tiny freckles just under his eyes, his long lashes, the brown of his eyes that seemed to be interrupted by tiny specs of gold, the short beard that contained three different nuances of brown, his curly hair that almost fell into his eyes and... His lips. On mine. Soft. My whole body relaxed and I closed my eyes. His arms wrapped around me and pulled me even closer. I felt like this was what it was supposed to feel like in one of the stories that I read. It felt so surreal. His lips moved against mine, slowly. I couldn't help but smile. This was perfect. One of his hands caressed my hair. Then, he pulled away slowly. I could feel my cheeks growing hot again. I could feel his breath on my skin. I smiled at him. He seemed relieved to see that and gave me a sweet little peck on the forehead. Then he pulled away and took my hand. "Well, that was a nice start for our date, what do you wanna do next?"
Once I was back home, I rang Kathy's doorbell. A few seconds later she opened. "I take it your date was successful?" I just grinned and hugged her. I felt like I could hug the whole world! My lips still tingled, I could feel the ghost of his hand in mine. We had been to an amusement park. The rides were fun but being there with Nate was the best thing ever. Kathy pulled me in and we sat down on the sofa. I told her everything that had happened and she listened. She smiled the whole time.
That night I went to bed with a giant smile on my face. He had asked me to be his girlfriend. The scene would forever be imprinted in my brain. My phone pinged. I took a look at it. "Today was wonderful, see ya soon! x" "Yeah, it was. Sweet dreams!", I replied. My finger hovered over the heart emoji. Nah, red was too boring. I chose a blue heart and sent it. Then, I fell asleep with the phone pressed against my chest.
BEEP BEEP BEEP
"Hnngh..." I hit the snooze button and fell asleep again.
BEEP BEEP BEEP
I woke up. Carefully I wrapped myself out of my bedsheets. Wellp, work seemed a lot less threatening now...
"Going down" "Yeah, well then go down, stop talking.", I looked at the newest edition to our elevator. The company had included an eye scan. How in the name of the one and only Gummi Bear king was I supposed to get down now? They hadn't scanned my eyes yet! Well, that day started off great!
