Strange People in Strange Places

"H-how did you do that?", my eyes were wide with surprise. "Oh, haven't I mentioned? I run this place.", he chuckled. I took a step back. "No way!" He just nodded. A laugh escaped my lips, I tried to hold it back but a second later I was almost crying because I was laughing so hard. It felt so relieving. Letting it all out. Not giving a damn about what the other people thought of me. Nate soon joined me with a warm, quiet laugh. Then, I just smiled at him like I have never smiled at anyone. "Thanks for that." He just shrugged. "He treated you like shit, he deserved it." My smile grew bigger, if even possible. "Wanna join the VIPs now?", he asked with a sly grin. I quickly nodded.

The bouncer made room for his boss and the cute yet mysterious looking girl. He had watched them from afar. The boss had always been good at making girls look at him in that special way. But this girl was different. She was so distant, a bit cold but once she started to smile honestly, it seemed like she was the only light in this room. The bouncer glanced at her as she passed by. She had muscles but not too many. She looked fit. Not the "I-hit-the-gym-everyday-to-post-selfies"-fit but the "I-know-how-to-use-my-muscles"-fit. This plus her ice mask made the bouncer think. Who was she? Not just your everyday girl. Behind this facade lurked something... something dangerous.
As the boss passed, the bouncer could see a red tint in his eyes. This girl seemed to be worth protecting. Whatever he saw, he hid it good.
The bouncer turned his back to the strange pair. Well, he most certainly was a demon. Maybe she was too. Maybe that was what she was hiding.

I followed Nate into a special part of the big room. I felt the gaze of the bouncer on me. He was strange, saw more than he should be able to. He had seen past my mask. Had seen the danger in me. I would have to look further into him later. Maybe he was a hellish creature. His face was imprinted into my memory. I wouldn't forget him. "Hey, the bouncer looked really cool, what's his name?", my voice was warm, I hid the caution in my gaze. I looked like a happy girl trying to flirt with guys. "He?", Nate turned around, pointing at the guy. I nodded with a sly grin. "Haha, that's Sam, also known as 'Mr. All-Punch-No-Talk'. I chose him myself, he is a great guy." I felt something in between the lines. There was more to him than he showed and Nate knew. It would be too obvious to ask more so I just made a funny remark about that name and changed the subject. I'd research that guy later.
