Her bag was really heavy but thanks to my training and heritage, it was nothing. The old woman pointed at a washing machine with a cute grin. "That one works best, could you empty it in there?" I chuckled and did as she asked. "What is a young, lovely girl doing here? I see mostly old hags like myself in this establishment." "The same that you do, washing my clothes. And you don't look like an old hag. You look well-aged." A beautiful smile tugged on the lips of the old lady. "Aww, you sweetheart.", She laughed and sat down. I sat next to her. She studied me with sharp eyes. "You're strong for a girl.", she exclaimed. I looked down, a little smile tugged on my lips. "Yeah, I guess I need it." She shook her head. "Nonsense! If you are this strong, you're never gonna find someone to protect you." I threw my head back and laughed. "You're funny. Who would want me?" Her eyes widened with shock. "What? Why shouldn't they?" I smiled at her with a cute smile. "Well, I'm a demon. And I've never met anyone who liked me after they found out.", A sad laugh escaped my lips. "And I guess, you don't either." I stood up and opened my washing machine and the dryer. Holding back tears, I stuffed my wet clothes into the dryer. Stupid! Why the hell did I tell her? Argh! And this was going so well! Dammit, I destroy everything.
"Well, now you know someone.", the old lady smiled. "What?", I turned around slowly. "I like you. You help others, make them smile but for yourself you only spare hatred. I think this old lady now has a mission!" She crooked her head to one side and grinned at me. "You don't think I'm crazy or something?", I asked carefully. "Oh, dear. Everyone is a bit crazy. But I believe in God. If they are here then there is a good chance that hell exists too. And hell would be nothing without demons. I'm just glad to have met a more calm type."
I just stared at the woman in awe. "Kathrin.", she smiled and opened her arms. "Alex.", I smiled and hugged her.

"Have you ever met an angel?", Kathrin asked me curiously as we were walking back, I offered to carry her stuff back home. "Hmm, once, I think. But only for a few seconds, disguised in his human form." Kathrin nodded. "I understand. Is this your human form, too?", she asked and looked at me. "I guess, I have a demon form with red eyes, horns, claws, sharp teeth and leather wings.", I shrugged. "Well, I wouldn't wanna make you my enemy...", she mumbled. I smiled at her. "Don't worry, I don't snap easily." "You are really strong, you know that? Not only physically but also mentally. You get bullied at work, don't try to correct me, that is what is happening, and still you never hurt anyone outside of the ring. I have a great respect for that." I smiled. When was the last time I had smiled this often? Oh, yeah. Yesterday with Nate.
