7. Hunters

Percy POV~

When my mom and Paul got back I was finishing up my homework.

"Percy," she said with a grin. "We have a surprise for you." I got off the couch and went over to the door. My mom stepped away from the door, still smiling ear to ear.

"Surprise, Seaweed Brain!" There was Annabeth, standing in the doorway with a suitcase.

"Wise Girl! What are you doing here?" I asked. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy she's here but I was just confused as to why she was here.

"My dad's doing a repeat of 6 years ago, he agrees with everything Helen says so I ran away again and decided to come live with you, Sally and Paul. I asked Athena and she enrolled me at Gotham Academy," she explained. I waited about half a second before she started going on about the architecture.

"Alright, Owl Face, I'll show you to your room. It's right across the hall from mine," I cut her off.

"Whatever, Kelp Head." I brought her upstairs and into one of the thousands of guest rooms.

"Here you are."

"Thank you. Now, where's the secret room?" My heart skipped a beat.

"What?"

"You know exactly what I'm talking about, Cyclone." She called me out.

"Fine. I had Leo build it in. He thought it was for homework. He also thought the voice changer was for school too," I paused. "He is way too gullible."

"You're just now realizing this?" She laughed. Then she went serious. "Where is it." She more stated it than asked.

"Fine, it's in my room. Come on." She followed me into my room. I pushed the button under my desk to open the secret compartment under the desk that opened another hatch near my bed with a lever that opened a panel with a code that, finally, opened the door. Leo is way to intricate with his designs.

I gestured for her to walk in. She walked in and the first thing she said was,

"I want in."

"What? No."

"How cute! You thought I was asking! If you don't let me help, I'll tell Sally right here," she leaned forward and lowered we voice. "right now."

I thought about it for less than half a second. "Fine. But your staying here as backup."

"Alright. I'll work the computer for directions, hacks and stuff."

"Okay." Just then monster-proof phone rang. Caller ID said it was Diana Prince.

"Hey, Diana. What's up?"

I would like you to come on a mission with the YJ team. Batman won't let me handle it.

"What is it?"

The Hunters of Artemis are causing trouble in Alaska.

"Alright. Just text me the location of where we're meeting and what time."

Thank you, Percy.

"Yep. See you soon." I hung up. "Thalia is causing trouble in Alaska and Batman won't let Diana handle it. He's sending the YJ team to detain them. She asked me to go with to make sure the team doesn't get killed by the man-hating-Hunters." I took a deep breath.

"Okay. When will they need you?" I looked at my phone.

"Tomorrow at 9 am I should be back about 2:30. Could you cover for me?" I asked.
