Percy POV~

I laughed as Annabeth and I reminisced. We had been telling Dick about our demigod adventures to get him caught up on everything. I looked at Dick to elaborate on what we were laughing at when I saw him staring at me with a look of... awe? Confused but not wanting to ask him about it, I explained the story behind our laughter.

As soon as he realized I was talking to him the look disappeared. It was weird and I didn't exactly understand what the look meant but I didn't let it show on my face or in my voice as I spoke to him.

The rest of the day went on as normal. During passing periods Annabeth and I would tell Dick more and more of our adventures. It may take a week but we were determined to get him completely caught up. The look of awe never crossed his face again. Maybe it was never there. Just a trick of the light. No matter what I thought it was, I knew better. It wasn't some trick of the light as I hoped.

The passing period before 6th hour, Josh came up to the three of us. Honestly, we would've kept talking and just ignored him except he couldn't know what we were talking about. So I did the natural thing. I turned on my sass.

"What do you want, Josh?" I've fought monsters, Titans, and gods but this mortal boy would, quite literally, be the death of me.

He threw on his playboy smile that was supposed to make girls faint with one glance. But something was different. Instead of his smile being 100% flirtatious, there was a hint of cruelty, like a predator cornering it's prey. It made me uneasy so I focused on his forehead instead.

"Well," he started. "I was thinking of giving you girls one final chance to admit your undying love for me. This 'hard to get' thing was fun at first but now I'm bored." I almost laughed at that. He actually thought we were playing hard to get?! I was about to reject him for the 432nd time (no joke! I've been counting!), when Annabeth beat me to it.

"Sorry, Joshua. Neither of us is or ever will be interested. Now, when you can get that through your big head, then we can talk."

Dick seemed to be struggling to hold in his laughter and, to be honest, so was I. Josh's prideful look fell so fast not even the Flash would've been able to catch it. Dick chose that time to practically burst out laughing. Josh glared at him.

"You find something funny, Grayson?" He said, with his normal bully voice. I glared back at him. If there was one thing I hated, it was bullies. Monsters and angry gods I can handle. Middle school bullies were a different story. Unfortunately, Josh wasn't looking at me, for once, and didn't see my glare.

Dick seemed to remember he was supposed to be the smart kid with few friends at shut up. He made sure to add a full for good measure.

"No, sir," he said, looking like a deer caught in headlights. I have to admit Richard Grayson can be a good actor when he wants to be.

The cruelty from before made it to his eyes for half a second before disappearing and becoming smug.

"Well," he started, leaning into a slightly relaxed position against the locker next to us. He seemed to go back to the subject before. "You can't say I didn't give you a chance."

He walked away. Not a trace of being rejected by two girls liked for the millionth time. Not a trace of the cruelty I had seen in his eyes meerly seconds before. I didn't admit it then, as I should've, but I was completely unnerved by his actions. It just wasn't like Josh to be so...

Easy.

Dick POV~

After the encounter with Josh, Percy seemed a bit on edge. She wasn't exactly all there. She didn't raise her hand in class to 'make it look like she participates'. She didn't even help Annabeth much with the story telling. Annabeth seemed a bit off also. She didn't take it as hard as Percy but was still acting strange. It didn't take a genius to figure out that they saw something weird with Josh but I was too busy holding in my laughter to pay attention during the brief encounter.

Whatever it was, it must've been extremely unsettling to upset two powerful demigods such as Percy and Annabeth.

We went through the rest of the day, only getting to the part in their story when Percy decided to sneak out of camp to go on a quest to find Annabeth. Since Annabeth wasn't there for that part, Percy told it mostly on her own. And that didn't work very well because Percy still wasn't tracted.

It was the last period of the day when Percy seemed to finally convince herself that nothing was wrong and she didn't need to worry. She had horrible timing.

History was out final period and we were still studying mythology. Of course that means it was the only class Percy passed without effort. I mean, she's got okay grades, thanks to Annabeth, but it took quite a bit of effort for her to do good. Especially when we read a novel in English. At least with this topic, she could fly easily through it without much help.

It started out as a normal history class. The teacher droning on and on about something in her monotone voice. Most students not paying attention. Including Percy.

Maybe it was because she was bored or maybe she didn't even realize she was doing it but all around the room water bottles were becoming restless. Sparkling water (rich kid school, remember?) sloshed back and forth in its containers as if trying to break free. When I looked at Percy herself I realized she was glaring at Josh's back. History was the only class we had with Josh and he was still the most annoying kid in class. Which is definitely saying something.

Anyways, Percy didn't seem to notice she was controlling the water at all. Judging from her glare, the liquid was just responding her emotions.

At some point, we locked eyes and I silently told her to get her emotions under control before someone noticed. All at once the water stopped moving as if it had never been active at all.

I shuddered. I still found her "mind over water" powers freaky. Which, again, is saying something.

Anyways, History dragged on as normal after that. The bell rang at its usual time and everyone in the class rushed to get out while Mrs. White yelled about homework.

I met Percy and Annabeth out in the hallway. They had been deep in conversation but stopped as soon as I was near. I could tell from their faces that it was something to do with their demigod lives. Something bad.

"What's wrong?" I asked. They glanced at each other before coming to a silent agreement.

"We have to get out of the school, now." Percy said as if that cleared everything up.

The two of them darted down the hallway, earning some stares from the students around them.

I wasn't completely sure what was going on so, of course, I followed them out to the football field. Probably my worst idea yet.

A/N Yay! I finally finished it! Woot woot! Sorry it took so long. I knew exactly what I wanted to happen in the end but I just didn't know how to get there. But here we are! My summer break starts on Thursday so no school may equal more updates. Heavy on the may. Again, if I don't update, just yell at me in the comments till I do.

Yours in demigodishness, and all that. Peace out!✌
