Percy POV~

I woke with a start. The first thing I realized was that I was in bed. The second thing I realized was that I was still alive. I looked around my room in confusion. Didn't Annabeth say that the Amphi-something had enough venom to kill a lot of people? I mean not that I'm complaining, but how am I not dead?

At that moment, my mom walked into the room.

"Percy, it's time to get- oh. You're up, good. You're going to be late for school. Come on," she said. Then, she left. All of a sudden I got a weird sense of deja vu. I couldn't place it exactly but this had happened before.

I slowly climbed out of bed and walked over to my dresser to grab my school uniform. It wasn't there. That's when I finally realised that I was in my old apartment in Manhattan.

After a quick cold shower, I headed towards the kitchen, following the scent of blue waffles (yeah, I bet you're pretty jealous right now). The closer I got to the kitchen the more I felt that something was wrong. By the time I got there, I was pretty much dreading opening the door. I took a deep breath and pushed it open. My heart dropped all the way to my stomache.

The man sitting in the chair across from my mom certainly wasn't Paul. What was he doing there?! It was an impossible sight in front of me. I was so shocked I'm pretty sure my mouth literally hit the floor.

"Hello, Percy." Even his voice sounded impossible. There was no way in Tartarus that this man could be here, if you could really call him a man. He looked different. As though he were supposed to be there, as if there wasn't something made of atone keeping him from actually being here. If he looked like himself, I would have questioned it that much but he didn't look like himself.

I took yet another deep breath, wondering what I had gotten myself into, before responding.

"Hey, dad."

"What are you doing here?" It slipped out of my mouth before I could stop myself. Both of my parents furrowed their brows in confusion at my question.

"What do you mean? I live here," Poseidon stated, as though it were obvious. My mother's confused face turned to one of concern. Unfortunately, I have seen this face more times than I wish to admit.

"Percy," she started. Something was definitely wrong with what I was seeing right now. "Are feeling okay? I know you've been under a lot of stress with school but-" I cut her off.

"What? Since when has school been the main stressor in my life?" I know I should have felt bad after snapping at my mom like that but something told me this wasn't the real Sally Jackson.

"Percy? Is there something you're not telling us?" 'Poseidon' asked. That's when I actually took the opportunity to take in his outfit. He was wearing a nice button up shirt and khaki pants. He has a brown belt around his waist and matching brown loafers. His dark hair was slicked back with hair gel and was cut shorter than normal. It looked at though he had switched wardrobes with Paul.

"Mom, where's Paul?" It struck me that I hadn't asked about him in the first place. This was all just too weird.

"Paul?" My mother looked genuinely confused for a moment and then a looks of realization washed over her face. "Oh! Mr. Blofis, your English teacher. Well, I would imagine he would be at school. The same place you should be right now! Come on, let's go!" She shooed me out of the kitchen towards my backpack. I put on my shoes cautiously, as though my "mother" would turn around and attack me at any given moment.
