10. Interrogation

Percy POV~

"Okay. Where's the interrogation room?" They all looked at my surprised. Apparently, they aren't used to people freely doing an interrogation. Dick was the first to recover.

"This way." He walked over to a small room with one way mirror and a table with handcuff holders. I rolled my eyes beneath my helmet. Typical interrogation room. He lead me into the room while the rest of the team stood outside the one way mirror.

"Starting with the basics. Where are you originally from?" Dick started.

"Manhattan, New York," I replied.

"Who do you live with?"

"My mom and stepdad." I furrowed my brow. These are somewhat personal questions. Is trying to guess my identity? Well, then it's time to start lying.

"Why exactly did you become a hero?" He stressed hero as if he didn't know if I was a hero or not.

"I believe I already told you this."

"Remind me," he replied.

"Okay. I have powers and I've seen too many people die." He didn't look satisfied.

"Could you be more specific?"

"Without being reminded that I could have saved every single one of them? No," was my response.

"Why do you use that voice changer? Would one of us recognise your voice without it?" Oh my gods. He already knows but he staged this whole thing just for evidence.

"Could I talk to you alone?" I didn't wait for a response. I grabbed his arm and vapor traveled to a rooftop near the mountain. I turned away from him and took off my helmet, letting my hair fall down the back of my armor. I turned off my voice changer.

"You caught me," I said, without looking at him.

"Yeah. You rode the elevator out of Hell and your dad was lost at sea. I put the pieces together," he replied. I turned towards Dick and looked into the whites of his mask.

"What are you going to do with your new information? Tell the team? The Justice League?" I knew the Justice League would want to interrogate me because my file is probably super small. I've done a lot of stuff but they don't know anything about me personally. Wonder Woman would try to help but I doubt it would do anything.

"I-I don't know," he said scratching the back of his neck. He took his mask off and I stared into his beautiful azure eyes. Wait what?! Nevermind.

"You could just say we finished the interrogation and let me go," I said hopefully. He laughed softly.

"No, they already think that I'm defensive of you. I don't even know why I'm defensive of you."

"It feels like I play a part. I'm the 'missing puzzle piece in a puzzle yet to be put together', in the words of... everybody," I said. Dick had such good poker face, I couldn't even tell what emotion he was feeling.

Hey, you okay? You're quieter than usual.

That's when I realized I still had Annabeth in my ear. I turned away from the Boy Wonder and told Annabeth,

"I'm fine, Scribe. A little problem but we'll be ok!" She didn't seem to believe it.

Knowing you, a little problem is a huge one you're trying to cover up, she said. Wow, I never realized how little faith she had in me.

"Actually," I looked at Dick and slightly smiled. "it's really a small problem so don't worry."

Okay but you have to get back. Your mom is becoming suspicious.

I quickly turned to Dick. "I have to go. Tell the team my ID, it's fine. Bye." Before I vapor traveled away, I pecked him on the cheek.

Dick POV~

After Percy left, I touched the spot where she had kissed me. She kissed me. I don't know why, but I liked it. It was only a peck on the cheek but it was still amazing. I shook the thoughts out of my head and went back for the mountain.

As expected, once the Zeta Tube announced my arrival, I was bombarded with questions.

"Guys! Do you remember the girl we saved from the Joker about a week ago?" They all nodded. "Her name was Persephone Jackson and she is Cyclone."

"I knew she was hot!!!" Wally immediately says. I made up the rest of the interrogation after I was "kidnapped". After I was done explaining, we were just sitting in the lounge area in silence.

"What should we do about Cy-Persephone?" Artemis asked.

"We could ask her to join the team," Kaldur said. I just realized that Kaldur had been very quiet.

"But we barely know her! She could be some kind of spy!" Conner yelled.

"If she is, we'll know. M'gann can read her thoughts and see if she has any bad intentions," I said. After that, we went back to sitting in silence.
