"What are you talking about?" I asked, Poseidon said nothing, he just grabbed my hand, and snuck me past the nymphs. He walked me down some stone steps, taking me deeper into The Underworld, he lead me down a dark hallway, and I heard screams. I swallowed the lump in my throat.
"I-I don't wanna go here..Poseidon please."
I cried, before pulling away from him, he swiftly grabbed my wrists, and pulled me close to him again, he smirked, and licked his lips.
"I'm sorry Damara. But, I'm showing you this." He said before continuing to drag me down the hall.
What I saw, was people trapped, in their own personal hells. It was terrifying, and Hades was the one doing it. Poseidon was smirking widely, until I started to tear up.
Then, I think he may have felt bad about what he did. Because his face softened, and he put his hands on my shoulders.
"Hey..I-I'm sorry. Let's..go." He sighed. Before leading me out.
He sighed deeply. "Are, you okay? I'm sorry you had to see Hades like that. I really didn't think of the effect it may have. I just wanted to you to know the truth. I didn't think it would hurt you so much." He frowned, as he rubbed my arm. I sighed.
"I'm not mad at Hades. And I'm not scared of him, I hope you know that Poseidon."
He dropped his arm to his side, and cocked his head at me. He sighed.
"You..you're not..?" I shook my head.
"He's doing his job. I don't judge you for ruling the sea. I refuse to judge him for running The Underworld. He has to." I crossed my arms. Poseidon clenched his fists together.
"Why do you always have to see the good in people Damara?" He growled, sounding more annoyed than angry. I rolled my eyes.
"Maybe you're right. Maybe I shouldn't always see the good in people. Maybe..I shouldn't have seen it in you. Because by the looks of it, you like who you've become." I shook my head. And started to storm off, Poseidon grab my hand.
And I turned back to him, unamused. He sighed.
"I don't wanna be the bad guy in your story Damara. I really don't. I hate being the villain. I'm always in the same category with Zeus. I want things to be different this time. I understand, that I may not be the love interest, or even the hero. But please, let me be apart of your journey. Teach me how to be more like you.." He smiled softly, sounding sincere.
"Damara?" Are you okay?"
Hades asked, with a smile. I didn't see Poseidon anymore. I cleared my throat and Hades put his hands on my waist. I smiled softly.
"I'm sorry I left this morning. I had some..work to do, but I really am sorry." He explained. I smiled.
"It's okay Hades."
"Um, Damara? Hades? You have a visitor." I heard Ambrosia say. I'd hoped it was Athena, but judging by Ambrosia's tone. It wasn't, she didn't seem happy. There was only one other person I knew of who'd wanna visit.
Zeus.
