1976

It only took a few minutes before someone on the banks of the river noticed Remus and Aurora snogging. After that there was far too much whooping and hooting for them to continue let alone take it any further.

Aurora had kissed Remus one last time, before swimming back to the shore and sprinting towards the woods, yelling for one of the girls to bring her clothes and 'something to warm me the heck up good grief it's cold!'

Remus followed shortly after, drying himself with his wand and putting his robes back on.

By the time the girls had dried Aurora off and kept watch while she got dressed the boys were gone. None of the girls were all that bothered as it was really late and they were all tired. It was far less likely that they would be caught too if the groups were smaller.

Once back in their dorm the girls all changed wordlessly into their pyjamas and collapsed onto their beds.

"Don't take this silence as a free pass, Rory. We're discussing the events of tonight in the morning." Lily instructed, earning grunts of agreement from the other girls. Rory just grumbled in response and that was it before they were all out cold.

The next morning the girls all awoke in various states of disarray, each grumbling about something or another.

"I wish I washed my makeup off last night, my eyes were practically glued shut this morning and there is red lipstick all over my pillows." Marlene groaned, sitting up to reveal a makeup smeared face and her once perfectly styled hair a mess of matted curls sticking out at all angles.

"I wish I had drunk some water, my head is killing me." Mary added to the list of complaints, massaging her temples and burying herself further into her mountain of pillows and blankets.

"I second that. I also hate to think what my hair looks like after I slept on it half wet from the clouds and still sort of styled from the ball. I think I scalped myself with one of my bun pins." Lily recounted, rubbing at her head as she fished out even more rogue ruby clips.

"I vote we all shower and head down to breakfast." Mary suggested, her voice muffled beneath her bedding.

"Agreed. We have much to discuss." Lily stated in a knowing voice, switching her gaze to Aurora's bed.

"And Aurora definitely needs to shower. She stinks of lake water." Marlene piped in, pinching her nose between two fingers to emphasize her point.

"Wakey, wakey!" Lily chimed, pulling back the curtains around Aurora's bed, only to be met with empty sheets.

"Drats! A pre-emptive counter strike!" Lily exclaimed, scrunching her face up.

"We'll just have to hunt her down." Marlene grinned mischievously, wringing her hands together as if she were plotting.

The Gryffindor boys awoke much the same as the girls had that morning; hungover.

Remus Lupin was definitely the worst off out of all the boys. The full moon was drawing nearer which meant he was becoming weaker and more susceptible to sickness, or hangovers as the case may be. He groaned and rolled over, almost completely flattening a very startled Aurora in the process.

"What the-" Remus was cut off by a hand clapping over his mouth. Aurora raised a finger to her lips to signify silence as the events of the night before came flooding back to him.
