"I need you like water
Like breath, like rain
I need you like mercy
From Heaven's gate
There's a freedom in your arms
That carries me through
I need you"

Love, something that Erin wasn't use to. It wasn't a feeling she ever felt. With a mother like Bunny, you don't always feel loved like most do by their mothers. So, meeting Jay, working alongside him, day by day, getting to know him, falling for him as time went on, it was a huge step for her to admit to herself that she loved him.

At first, she wasn't going to lie, she rather found him rather irritating. His first day in Intelligence, she remembered him walking in and Voight introducing him to everyone. She, of course, sized him up, wondering what he was like, and if he was going to be a good asset to the group or not.

It figured that he got partnered with her. She wasn't annoyed by it, but at first, she wasn't sure she wanted to work alongside him. She wasn't going to fight Voight on it though. He obviously had his reasoning for putting Jay and her together.

The first thing she made clear to Jay, as they went out on their first case, was that she drove. It was obvious that Jay wasn't to fond of the idea, but he took it like a trooper. It was actually surprising to her. She really expected him to put up a fight about it, but he didn't. Maybe he wasn't so bad after all.

The more they worked together, the more he grew on her. There was a point in time that it came clear to her that Jay may have feelings for her. At first, she wasn't sure how she felt about that. Before she knew it though, there was times they both teased one another, maybe even flirted. Was she gaining feelings for him as well?

Voight was always at the back of her mind. She knew he wouldn't approve. So, it was why she ignored the feelings growing inside her, and turned Jay down. She even dated Kelly. She had developed feelings for Kelly as she worked on a case involving him and his sister. It didn't last long, but she was glad to still have a friendship with him.

After Kelly, there were times she found it hard to fight her feelings for Jay. Looking back now, she hated that she had to keep the first time together, a secret. She knew that Jay hated it, but because of Voight, and knowing he'd disapprove, he was willing to do so. Voight, though, always figured things out. Ending things with Jay was hard. It wasn't easy for her at all.

When they finally gave their love another try, even getting Voight's approval, things seemed right in her life, we'll, up until Nadia was murdered. She got lost in that dark world, even shut those who cared about her out. The fact Jay didn't give up on her, now, looking back, it warmed Erin's heart.

The call from Al, telling her Jay had been kidnapped, snapped her out of that dark place, saving him, made her realize that she needed to get back work, that she needed to let those who loved her back in.

There was so much to think back on, so much to realize, but at the moment, she wanted to think back to now, think of this new chapter in her life with Jay.

She confessed her love to Jay. Erin told Jay, she was completely in love with him. That was a huge step for her, just as asking him to move in with her was. She was ready for this. For the first time in her life, Erinn was madly in love, and ready for her future with Jay.

It was a normal night in their apartment. Just the two of them, laying in bed, cuddled together, leaving work behind them, and enjoying one another's company. As she ran her fingers over his bare chest, Erin's thoughts lead her to wanting to make another confession.

"Jay," Erin started.

Jay, who was staring up at the ceiling, enjoying this moment with the woman he loved, enjoying the feel of her fingers brushing along his chest, snapped out of thought when he heard Erin's voice.

"What is it my love?" Jay asked, before placing a kiss on her forehead.

Erin had paused, mostly because she was a bit nervous, which seemed silly, but this was a big moment for her.

"Nothing. I just want to confess something to you. Something, I'm not always great at, but I'm working on that."

Erin sat up, so she could look Jay in the eyes, who was smiling as he looked back at her. She found his smile rather adorable. Once she saw that she had Jay's full attention, she went on.

"I know that I've told you I'm completely in love with you, but I don't think I've made it clear to how much you mean to me, how much I need you in my life."

She brought her hand up from his chest, and placed it on the side of his, cupping it as she spoke to him.

"You have changed my life in so many ways, Jay. At this point, in my life, in our relationship, I feel like if I were to lose you, my world would come crashing down around me."

She glanced down, then, continued on.

"I can't live without you. I need you, like I need air to breathe. Like, the earth needs water, I mean, I could go on, but I'm sure you get the point."

She laughed, as did Jay.

"You have helped me through so much. You're always there for me. I know I was upset over Jimmy, but I know you were looking out for me, and I love you for that. You do so much for me, I only pray, I do the same for you. I will always be there for you, through thick and thin. I'm madly in love with you Jay, forever and always."

Erin then waited for a reply from Jay, but he was so filled with love and happiness from all Erin said, words went enough. At this moment, actions were what he wanted to use to express how he felt.

Jay brought his free hand up, cupping the back of Erin's head, then pulling her down, so, he could place a passionate kiss on her lips.

He pulled away so he could look deeply into her eyes, and as he did so, that beautiful smile, that he loved so much, was glowing back at him. A warm smile grew on his face as they looked deeply into one another's eyes, before Jay pulled Erin in to kiss her passionately, until they were wore out and ready to fall asleep.

Erin was the happiest she has ever been. There was nothing that could come between them, there was nothing that could ruin this happiness for her. At least, she hoped anyways.
