Part 4; The Results
After calling Veronica, Jay then ended up calling his brother Will. He figured if anyone could help him out, it was his brother. It may not be his brother's expertise, but he knew his brother wouldn't turn down helping him out and keeping it on the down low. He didn't need this spreaded everywhere and he didn't want everyone they knew knowing.
Keeping this a secret seemed like the best thing. One, he wasn't even sure if the kid was even his, and two, he didn't need people bothering Erin about this. She didn't deserve to have people bothering her on how did she feel about her boyfriend possibly having a kid with someone else. He could only imagine how hurtful that could end up being.
Will, he was shocked by all of this, but finding out it was Veronica who Jay was doing this for, he wasn't too surprised. He never did like her, nor did he ever think she was a good choice for his brother. He always did think she looked like the cheating type.
His bother let him know that he'd call him as soon as the results came back, so, Jay headed to work, hoping he could keep his head clear.

Two days later....
It was kind of nerve racking waiting for the results, but work had kept him pretty busy, so, he was able to forget about it for awhile. That was, until his phone rang, and he say it was his brother Will.
He nervously answered his phone. "Hey, what's going on?"
"Well, the results are in," his brother replied.
"Yeah? Well, what does it say?" Jay asked.
"I'm so going to feel like that guy on tv, Maury, or whatever his name is. Anyways, Jay, according to these results, you are not Eric's father."
Was is horrible that Jay was relieved? Would it have been that bad if he had been the father? As much as he'd love to be a father, he wasn't ready to right now. Plus, he didn't want his first child to be with Veronica. If anything, he'd love for his first child to be with Erin.
After he got off the phone with Will, Jay called Veronica to discuss things with her. She had already gotten the call that Jack was the father. She had just gotten of the phone before Jay called her.
They talked for a little bit, mostly long enough for her to apologize to him for everything, and him to tell her that if she ever needed anything, to give him a call. When they hung up, Jay couldn't wait to deliver the good news to Erin.
Jay made he was back upstairs where Erin was at her desk doing some investigation for their current case. A smile appeared across his face as he admired her while making his way over to her.
Erin looked up just as he approached her desk. She smiled lightly up at him. "Everything okay?" She asked.
"Yeah, just got off the phone with Veronica. Will called before that," he told her.
"Yeah?" She asked with much curiosity. "Did the results come back?"
"Yes, they did." He was going to just come out and tell her, but he decided play with her a bit, and went quiet after answering her.
Erin was not amused with Jay right now. Was he really going to make her beg for it? She sighed before rolling her eyes at him. "Well, what did they say?"
Jay tried not to chuckle, as he also tried to hide his smirk. Pissing Erin off was never a fun thing to do. He gave her an apologetic smile, then went on to finally answer her question.
"I'm not Eric's father."
Though she was relieved, she also felt a bad sad. What if Jay had wanted to be the father? Did it make her a bad person to be happy that he wasn't?
"Are you okay?" She finally asked.
"Yeah, I'm actually relieved that I'm not. As much as I'd love to be a father, this isn't my time. I want my first child to be with the woman I love, I want it to be with you." He confessed.
Jay's confession warmed Erin's heart, it also made her wish they were at home, because she could just kiss him right now. Though kids didn't really mix well with their job, it wasn't until Jay and her got together that she even started having thoughts of having a family someday. She'd love nothing more than to have children with Jay.
She stood up, gazing up into his piercing blue eyes, smiling softly. "Too bad we're at work right now, because I could just kiss you right now."
"Oh yeah." Jay asked, smirking as he gazed down at her. He was madly in love with this woman. He couldn't wait to spend the rest of his life with her.
Before their moment could get any cuter, Voight interrupted, wanting Jay and Erin to go talk to a possible witness to their case. They knew they'd finish this up with they got home, so, they weren't too upset that had to cut their moment short and get back to work.
Jay was just glad that all of this was behind them, that they we're able to move on with their lives, together. He just hoped this was the last big bump in the road. He knew their relationship wasn't going to be perfect, but he hoped that nothing serious like this happened anytime soon.
All they both wanted right now was to focus on their career and their relationship. They didn't want anymore outside drama coming in between them again. It was time for them to be truly happy. That was something they both wanted more than anything. Hopefully, they'd get just that.

I Need You
FanfictionThis is my first time ever doing fanfiction. So, hopefully, it's not too horrible. Lol. This was meant to be a short story, but I'm not completely sure yet. It was a story inspired by LeAnn Rimes song "I Need You." For this part, I did Erin's POV. I...
