"A friend is someone who knows all about you and still loves you".

"Jump or shoot," he ordered, his long, blonde hair blowing around in the wind.
"No!" she exclaimed, her voice wavering slightly. "I won't."
He snorted. "Suck it up and choose girl. You either kill the boy or jump off this bridge."
She gulped, biting her lip, and looked at the 10 year old Asian boy's frightened eyes. She couldn't take his life. Alexa made her decision. "I'll jump."
The man smirked. "Get up."
She complied. A man lifted her up and placed her on the ledge of the Golden Bridge. She swallowed hard, looking at the calm waters of the Golden Strait. She held onto the ropes of the suspension bridge and looked back, wondering if she could change her decision. But one look at the frightened boy and Alexa knew she could never be so heartless.
"Jump," the man commanded, his icy green eyes flashing in excitement.
Alexa took a deep breath, looking up at the royal blue sky. Maybe she'd join her father today. With that thought, she jumped. She heard the boy's gasp before the only sound Alexa could hear was the harsh wind as she fell. Her stomach lurched at the sensation and she recalled hearing that falling on water from a great height was worse than hitting cement.
Her small body crashed against the water and she sunk, feeling as if the wind had been knocked out of her. She began sinking rapidly and she furiously tried to paddle her feet in hopes of breaking the surface. It didn't take her long to realize her attempts were futile.
She gave up, her hair floating around her like a halo of seaweed. Her hands fell to her sides, giving up their struggle to assist her in staying afloat. It was only a moment of peace before a constricting feeling took place in her lungs. Her lungs were desperate for air and they were certainly making it known. She felt as if they were going to explode.
Her struggle to reach the surface returned with renewed vigor. She pumped down, trying to push herself up to no avail. The current was too strong. Alexa was about to give up her struggle for good when she saw a light. For a second, she thought she was seeing the light to Heaven. Maybe her father was waiting for her there.
Then she saw a body diving for her, a waterproof flashlight held in the person's hand. He swam towards her, reaching her in record speed. He gripped her around the waist and began pulling her up towards the surface.
Her eyelids felt heavy and she allowed them to slip shut. Black overtook her vision and she passed out.
"Fuck!" Alexa yelled.
Zhang gave her a reprimanding look. "Don't swear."
She clenched her teeth to prevent herself from cursing at him. "Wouldn't you if some random Asian guy shoved tweezers into your shoulder?" She motioned towards the bloody tweezers he was holding in a death grip.
Zhang had pulled over on the road, saying that it was necessary to remove the bullet since they didn't know how long it would take them until they could go to a hospital. He had knocked on a random house's door and asked them if they could use their first-aid kit. When the 60 something year old lady had seen the condition of her bloody shoulder, she had shoved a first-aid kit into Zhang's hand and had slammed the door, muttering something about not wanting to be involved with gangs at her age.
