George POV
Pushing through the crowd of students swarming around to get to class, I looked for Fred. Fred was the only one who could help me right now.
"Mr. Weasley!" The sharp voice of professor McGonagle called out.
I swore under my breath and turned to face my head of house. She gestured to her office and I reluctantly followed her inside.
After the professor closed the door to the office she turned to me, "I'm hoping, you have a good reason for missing most of your classes today."
"I do professor but right now I need to talk to Fred so now's not the greatest time for me to explain," I said while backing up towards the door again. "But I promise I'll explain... sometime."
After that I grabbed the door handle and ran to find my twin, McGonagle yelling "MR WEASLEY" after me. I found him talking to Lee outside of DADA.
"I thought you were skiving off to be with Kar-woah!" Fred said as I grabbed his arm and started dragging him back to where I was before I went to find him-- the Astronomy tower.
"Geez! What's gotten into you?" Fred asked.
I quickly told Fred what had happened. Everything. He didn't appreciate me telling him about her kissing me ("stop! I don't want to hear these details! Just... stop!!") but got the seriousness of the situation.
"So let me get this straight. You have to pretend to love the girl who is basically the dark side of the girl you really love," I nodded, "for three weeks," I nodded again, "and if you actually fall in love with her you'll never get Karly back?"
"That sums it all up."
"And I thought life didn't like us to start with."
I stared at him in disbelief, "not the time Fred."
"Right. Well there is only one way I can help."
I stared at him, expectantly. He paused a long time. Obviously for dramatic effect. It was driving me mad.
"Avoid her a lot. I can keep you busy and away from her so that it's not as hard."
I had to admit it was a pretty brilliant plan. Simple, practically dimwitted, so ingeniously me and Fred.
"My dear twin you are a genius," I said shaking his hand.

"I can't do this!" I yell at Fred and Lee while pacing our dorm.
We had gotten through two and 3/4 weeks so far. And I thought I was going to loose my mind.
"Calm down mate," Lee said.
"Yeah, you just got today and tomorrow to get through and you get her back," Fred reassured.
But it wasn't reassuring. I now understand why Karly begs me sometimes to make sure she doesn't fall asleep. That she-devil is an evil... she-devil. The name says it all. And Merlin knows what she does to Kay.
Someone knocked on our dorm door.
"George?" Speak of the devil. Or in this case, she-devil.
I groaned. I had done great these past two weeks. I mostly avoid the she-devil. Fred kept me busy with joke shop stuff. By the way, skiving snackboxes, best thing that's come out of the past two weeks.
"George please," there was desperation in her voice. Okay I must be crazy because I opened the door.
I looked into her eyes first. I always did. They were soft, sad, and full of tears. And Karly's. She was back... and she was hurt.
"Bloody-"
"Bad choice of words George!" She gasps and looks down to her side, that's was red with blood.
"Right," I said and pulled her into our dorm. Lee and Fred gave me questioning looks, "it's definitely her. What happened?"
"I don't know," she said and gasped in pain again, "all I remember is you telling me you love me as I feel asleep and then I'm waking up on the floor like this."
"Merlins beard Karly, you don't look so good," Fred said.
"Of course she bloody doesn't!" I snapped, Kay wincing at my poor choice of words, "who knows how long she's been bleeding like this. Come on, we need to get you to Madam Pomfry."
Before she could protest I scooped her up bridal style and started carrying her downstairs.
Fred ran down faster than me and ran ahead yelling, "your going to need someone to tell them quicker than you can carry her!"
"What happened?" Karly asked quietly, her eyes starting to close. She was loosing too much blood too quickly.
"Hey, don't sleep. I'll tell you everything later. Just stay awake."
"You don't have to tell me twice," she says jokingly and I chuckle softly, "George... are you alright?"
"You asking me that while your bleeding to death?!"
"Sorry, I just thought it needed to be asked. You don't seem alright."
"I'll be better when your fine."
She nodded, and I looked up from her face to see Madam Pomfry and Fred running over to us.
Madam Pomfry levitated Kay up to the hospital wing with us at her heels. But she made us wait outside the hospital wing while she patched Karly up. I paced. And paced. And paced. Fred thought I was going to create a hole in the floor with all my pacing.
After what seemed like hours, Madam Pomfry came out to tell us what was wrong with her. The cause of the damage, probably a dagger. The damage, a very deep slash across her side. She said if we had been five minutes later... Kay wouldn't ever be coming back. The cut would leave a scar, but other than that no more damage done.
"She's on blood replenishing and pain potions, so she might not remember if you go see her."
"I don't care," I said and walked in with the matron.
"Hey Kay," I said softly as I kneeled down next to the bed she was in.
"George? Everything's spinning," her words were slurring together and she sounded a little hysterical, but I couldn't care less. She was back.
One question was plaguing my mind. How the heck did she get out of she-devil's grip?
But that doesn't matter right now. All that matters is that Karly's alright.
Since she wouldn't remember I pulled the small box that I always had in my pocket now out. Inside was a ring.
"Karly?"
"Hmmmm?" She asked deliriously.
"Will you marry me?" I asked softly.
"Of course! I love you," she said before the potions she had consumed overtook her conciseness.
I smiled to myself. Even if it wasn't an actual proposal and she wouldn't remember, if anything happened I would know I had a chance to ask her. And with that, I sat down on one of the chairs next to me, held tightly to Karly's hand, and fell asleep. Peaceful for the first time in two weeks.A/N
Well this was a lot shorter than I anticipated. But who really cares. I know I left you with a lot of questions probably, but they won't be answered. At least not for a long time. But please still ask them. I want to know what questions you have or anything you have to say about this book. Anyways that's it for right now.
