"Jennifer."
"William." Jenn spoke into her phone. She sat in the café around the corner from the V&A, sipping on her coffee. Her red lipstick left a ring around the lid.
"How are you on this fine day?"
Jenn glanced to the café's front window to see patches of cloud in an otherwise blue sky.
"It looks like I brought all my Canadian weather with me."
"Isn't Canadian weather snow?"
Jenn laughed. "Come to Canada in the summer and you'll realize how nice the weather is. Even in the fall, Quebec becomes vibrant with the leaves changing colour and everything."
"I'll have to come see it sometime."
Jenn smiled. "So, you're calling because...?"
"I was wondering when you'll be going to the V&A."
"When I finish my cup of coffee."
She could almost hear his grin through her phone.
"Good. Because I'm about five minutes away."
Jenn laughed. "So, you're joining me?"
He chuckled. "I wouldn't miss it for the world.""Don't you have a job?" Jenn questions.
William was silent for a few seconds. "My job will still here at the end of the week. You won't."
Her heart stopped in her chest. She was well aware of how temporary their relationship was and she was trying to make the most out of it before she left.
"I'll see you at the front." William hung up before she could say anything else.
