They exited the cab and headed up to the eye. The ticket master didn't even do a double take are their formal clothes, just took their tickets and motioned them to the capsule wordlessly.
They went inside along with a few other groups before the Eye started moving.
"What time is your flight, tomorrow?" William asked as they slowed ascended.
"8 in the morning." Jenn said ruefully.
He nodded. "Did you enjoy your trip?"Jenn turned to look at him. His eyes were warm but tinged with a bit of sorrow.
At least they still had this, right now.
"I think this will be the best month in my entire life." Jenn answered truthfully.
"And... what about this week?" William asked nervously.
Jenn bit her lip. "This week has been... bittersweet."
William nodded, understandingly. "Yeah, me too."
They passed the rest of the ascent in silence, gazing at the ever-decreasing London view.
"What's that over there?" Jenn asked, pointing to the Thames.
"The bridge?" William came up behind her to see what she was talking about.
"Yeah."
"That's tower bridge." He spoke softly, his voice tingling Jenn's ear.
He pointed to another building. "And there's the Tower of London."
Jenn nodded.
"And there's the Shakespeare's globe, the Opera House, 10 downing street, Parliament..." William went on for almost a minute, showing Jenn all of London's sights from inside their capsule, hundreds of feet above the ground.
"And there's St. Paul's Cathedral." He pointed to a domed building. He had placed a hand around her waist to steer her in the right direction and his head hovered just over her shoulder, his blond hair tinkling the tip of her ear.
William fell silent. He brushed back Jenn's hair, exposing her neck. "Jenn." His voice was soft and husky.
Jenn turned her head.
William's gaze was intense, heated with unspoken words and unsayable feelings.
It stole her breath away.
William grabbed her chin gently, gaze flickering to her red lips before kissing her ever so softly.
Jenn kissed him back, not caring if she ruined her lipstick.
William wrapped his arms around her waist as she wrapped her arms around his neck, drawing him in closer.
The others in the capsule along with them witnessed the scene and ignored them.
For the kissing couple, the whole world had stopped and restarted as they embraced one another. Only they existed and only this moment existed, forever.
