Chapter 5: Joyful News

(Lilith's p.o.v)

Soft sounding music that reminds me of my childhood was ringing throughout the halls. Its source is unclear. My footsteps barely made a sound as I walk, searching for the source. I peek through the large silver coloured door I've never seen before.

The door moved aside to reveal a new room that hard dark purple walls and carpet. At its heart is a white coloured child's crib. The left side of the room is taken up by a large amount pillows and plush toys. The right had a large sofa, arm chair and alongside a white chest of drawers. I walked over to it, taking in the pink coloured music box that sat on top.

"So, that's where it's coming from." I carefully opened the old box and turned off its switch, ending the soft music. As I turned to go, I blinked. This room...it feels familiar to me.

"I haven't been in here for years" I look round to the door way to see Mephisto, smiling slightly. He looked at me and then grinned. "You were a baby the last time I came in here. This was the first glass room. Once you were too old for it, I changed the enchantment."

"That is why I feel like I've been here before. Why haven't I seen this room before Mephisto? That was a wall last time I checked" I pointed to the door way behind him. He grinned and it was like he's glowing. He chuckled, walking over to me.

"The new enchantment I placed on the room was that it would only reveal itself again if you're pregnant, this will be our children's room" I froze and quickly felt numb. He picked me up, smiling and I was confused until his words sank in. I'm pregnant. I barely felt Mephisto put me down and barely hear his voice. "Lilith? Isn't this great?"

"I'm pregnant" I spoke, still unsure what to think. He nodded and his hands held my cheeks, forcing me to look him in the eyes.

"Yes. What, you're not happy?"

"I'm barely 18 and I don't know how to be a mother. I'm not ready. I can't-" but he kissed my head forcing my words to stop.

"I know it's a lot to take in, but Lilith, please remember I'm here. I am in the same boat as you. To be truthful, I'm so happy because no matter how much I wanted this, I believed it was impossible. Lucifer and his wife have been together for over 100 years and no matter how he tried, he hasn't had any children. I was starting to think that with my power and demonic rank that we would be cursed like that too. This is truly a miracle" I hugged him and the numb feeling washed away. I shouldn't be scared. If this was a bad thing, he would be too and he's not. He'll always protect me.

"Sorry, it's just a lot to take in" I smile weakly as he kisses my head again.

"We'll make it work, at least we don't live in Gehenna."

(Outside p.o.v)

Azael sat, bored out of his mind, listening to Lucifer talk about his new research. He couldn't believe the others are so interested by this.

"And that's why humans can breed so easily. It's most likely impossible for us. Father retained the ability from his angel form, I guess." as he spoke, Azael blinked as a pink letter suddenly came into existence in his lap. Everyone in the room looked to him, Licufer snarled. "What does he want? If he's got something to tell us, he can just come here" Azael opened the letter and blinked.
