After I finished taking pictures I heard my phone ring and I saw that it was Jack so I answered it,
"You okay Jack?" I asked him
"I-Iris." He stammered slightly on my name
"Jack what's wrong?" I asked worriedly
"I'm bleeding, I went to go get a drink and I coughed and blood came out."
"Where's mum?" I asked him
"At work, I haven't got any medicine left, I used the last of the emergency ones and mum said that she would get some more when she came home from work." He stammered
"Stay at home I'll come and see you." I hung up the phone and rushed down the street to get back to my house so I could get my car keys and drive to see Jack, when I was running back I bumped into Cal,
"Iris I wondered if you wanted to come over".
"I can't I've got to go and see Jack." I said quickly, my phone then rang for a second time and it was Jack again
"What's wrong?" I asked him
"My chest is hurting Iris, I-I can't deal with it anymore." He said in pain
"Just hang on Jack I'm now coming." I then ran passed Cal and into my flat to grab my keys. Just as I was about to leave in my car Cal got in the car with me
"What are you doing?" I asked him
"I'm coming with you." He smiled
"You can't Cal get out."
"I'm not arguing with you over this Iris, you're shaking just let me come with you." Cal persuaded me so I sighed and drove quickly down the road to get to the motor way so I could get to Jack.

(*Time Skip*)

When I got to the house I ran out of my car and burst through the front door
"Jack!" I called out in panic but I got no reply Jack!" I shouted again, I then ran into the living room to see him curled up in a blanket on the sofa I rushed over to him and saw that he wasn't breathing
"Cal call an ambulance now!" I shouted at him, Cal didn't hesitate he just got out his phone as quickly as possible and called for an ambulance, I un wrapped Jack from the blanket and held him in my arms he head dropped onto my chest and it scared me because this had never happened before with Jack he had never gotten this worse so I was petrified for his health. It didn't take long before the ambulance came the paramedics rushed in and asked me questions about Jack they then put him onto a stretcher and took him into the ambulance and hooked him up to a monitor to keep him alive and breathing. I chucked Cal my car keys and told him to meet me at the hospital while I went in the ambulance with Jack, I then got out my phone to all our mum.
"Mum you need to come home from work now." I said quickly
"Why what's wrong?" She asked
"Jack called me saying that he had been coughing up blood, so when I came to the house to see him he was curled up on the sofa and wasn't breathing so I got Cal to call an ambulance and we are on the way to the hospital now." I explained to mum
"I'll tell my boss she'll understand I'll be at the hospital in an hour." She answered
"Okay I'll see you soon." I ended the call and just as I did that the ambulance doors opened and the got Jack down and rushed him inside and into a ward.

Cal rushed in and came straight to me and hugged me tightly.
"How is he?" He asked me
"I don't know they won't let me see him yet." I answered, Cal and I sat outside of Jacks room, there wasn't any chairs where Jack was taken so we both sat opposite his door leaning our backs on the opposite wall, I leaned my head on Cal's shoulder and waited for my mum to come to the hospital,
"You know you don't have to stay here right? My mum will be here soon you can go home if you want." I said to Cal
"I'll stay because you're my friend and you're upset and worried about your brother." He replied with a slight smile.
We were waiting outside of Jacks room for what felt like hours and I felt my eye lids getting heavier so I fell asleep on Cal's shoulder.

I woke up a few hours later to someone shaking me lightly when I opened my eyes I saw Cal crouching in front of me
"You're mum wants to see you in the Jack's room Iris." Cal said lightly
"Okay." I mumbled lightly
"Do you want me to come in with you?" He asked me kindly
"N-no it's fine I'll go alone if that's okay?" I asked him but he didn't really have much of choice to be honest
"Okay, I'll wait here for you." Cal smiled before I walked into Jacks room to see my mum holding his hand as he slept peacefully or so that's what I thought he was doing... sleeping.
"Mum what's going on?" I asked her, she smiled with her tear stained face and held out her hand for me to hold
"The doctors said that Jack isn't going to get much better Iris, so they have um *sniffle* put him into a coma they've done this so that his body will repair its self but by the state it was in when he came here it's not looking good Iris they have given him three months left to live tops. I'm so sorry Iris." When my mum told me my heart broke I gasped in pain I let go of my mums hand and rushed out of Jack's room and crashed into Cal who was taken back slightly by the force of my hug.
"Iris what's wrong? What's happening with Jack?" Cal asked, it made me feel slightly better that he was so genuinely concerned about Jack and I even thought he hadn't known either of us that long,
"They have given Jack roughly three months left to live." I said quietly
"But he's a healthy fifteen year old boy. Isn't he?" Cal asked the last part cautiously
"No Jack has had cancer twice once when he was ten and the second time when he just turned fifteen, this time round it's terminal so it's not curable or treatable we knew that he wasn't going to live long but we didn't think that we would have this much short time with him." I sniffled as I had finally stopped crying
"Iris I'm so sorry, is there anything that I can do?" He asked
"No, all I need is a friend Cal." I said
"Well I can definitely do that." He smiled brightly at me which made me smile slightly, Cal stayed with me for most of the night and then I drove him home on the way back, mum and I agreed that we would take turns staying the night with Jack and tonight she was going to so I could get some rest.
