After standing out on the balcony for a little while, I hear a knock on my door.

"Come in!" I call. I reenter my room and see the door open, Peter slowly coming in. "Hello Peter." I had called him 'your highness' earlier and he told me just to call him Peter.

"Hello Elizabeth. How do you like your room?" Peter asked me.

"It's beautiful. The whole castle is. I still can't believe I'm actually in Narnia. I mean, just a few hours ago, I was just waking up in my bedroom at school, in 2017. And now I'm here in Narnia. I just hope you're right: that time won't pass back in our world. I love it here but I love our world too. I don't want to leave my friends and family forever." I explained as I sat on my bed. Peter walked over to me.

"May I sit?" I nodded my head and he sat down next to me. "Elizabeth, I can't tell you how time is going to pass. But I can say that I am glad you are here. I understand that you are worried about never seeing your family and friends again. When you told us that the year was 2017, I immediately thought to my mother and father and what happened to them. They probably died, believing that my siblings and I had died as well. They never saw any of us get married, because we're still young, almost 70 years later. I remember when I first arrived in Narnia. I had no idea where I was and if I could protect my family. And then Edmund was captured by the White Witch and I thought I had failed as a big brother. But we were able to get Edmund back and defeat the witch. I was still worried but I at least had my family. I can't imagine what I would do if they weren't here. They make me a better king. I don't know what you're feeling, arriving alone in a world you read about as a child. But I can promise you that I will be here for you." Peter explained. I couldn't believe it. I had just met him a few hours ago, and here he was, promising that he would be there for me. I leaned over and hugged him, placing my chin on his shoulder. He returned the gesture and rubbed my back. I know it sounds crazy, but I knew that I could trust him. After a few minutes, I pulled away from the hug, wiping a few tears that had escaped from my eyes. This whole situation was extremely overwhelming. Peter smiled kindly at me and ran his hand up and down my arm.

"I'm sorry about this Peter. I don't know why I am crying. I guess all of this is finally hitting me."

"It's quite alright Elizabeth. I know this can be overwhelming. Why don't we talk about something else? Tell me what your life is like." He said moving to be on my bed a bit more. He sat crisscrossed and I did the same, facing him. I told him all about my life, including my bad luck with boys. He was really easy to talk to. If I mentioned something that he wasn't familiar with, such as any kind of technology, I explained it to him. In turn, he told me about his life both before Narnia and since he arrived. We talked for hours on end. The sun had completely set and the only light was from the moon and the fireplace. We had just been laughing about a story he had told me about he and Lucy playing a practical joke on Edmund. There was a grandfather clock near my door and it chimed midnight. I couldn't believe we had been talking for so long. As our laughter died down, I sighed. Peter looked at the clock and started to stand up.

"I should be heading back to my chambers. You should get some rest. I take it you have had a long day. How would you like to come for a ride with me tomorrow? I can show you around the kingdom and we could have lunch." Peter suggested. I smiled at him.

"That sounds wonderful." I agreed. Peter smiled brightly.

"Wonderful. I will arrange it in the morning. I can be here around 11:00 if that is alright? Breakfast is served at 9:00 and I can come escort you there, if you like."

"That would be great. Thank you, Peter."

"Fantastic. Well, good night Elizabeth. I shall see you in the morning." Peter said before bowing and reaching out for my right hand and kissing the back of it. I blushed in spite of myself.

"Good night Peter." I said quietly as he walked to my door, turning around and smiling at me one last time before leaving the room. Well, despite the craziness of being here, my first day in Narnia was pretty good.
