"So, this is it? You're really leaving?" Lucy stands, teary eyed in front of me. I made the decision to go home. I need to finish getting my degree. I need to see my family. And Aslan assured me that I would see Peter and his siblings again. When I made the decision, I told Peter, both of us crying slightly. We all immediately rode out to the lamppost. Instead of focusing on where we were going, I focused on the ride itself, the way my horse moved, the way the wind blew my hair back, the smell of the trees in the forest. I focused on anything I could to distract me from what I was about to do.

"I'm so sorry Lu. But I know I will see you again. It'll be okay." I hugged her close to me and stroke her hair. She's become my little sister in the time I've been here.

"Don't forget about us, alright?"

"I could never forget you Lucy. You're my little sister, no matter how far apart we are." I tell her, wiping the tears from under her eyes. She walks away a little bit to let Edmund hug me.

"I thought you were going to be my sister-in-law. Who else will be crazy enough to love my brother?" he whispers so only I can hear. I laugh through the tears and hug Edmund a little tighter.

"Don't worry, I'm sure I'll eventually be your sister-in-law. And we'll be able to annoy Peter together." I whisper back, making him laugh as well.

"Good." He pulls away from our hug and we both laugh again, wiping our tears. Susan stepped up next, tears already pouring down her cheeks, making me break down again. We immediately hug, not saying a word. Frankly, no words needed to be said. We're pretty much sisters at this point. We are going to miss each other terribly. We don't need to say anything. The hug and the tears conveyed everything we felt. After a minute or so, we break apart. Susan mutters that her, Lucy, and Edmund will give Peter and I some privacy. They walk off a ways, out of ear shot as Peter stands in front of me, his sight casted on the leaf covered ground. About 20 yards behind me is the entry back into my world. A scout had peeked through and saw what, according to his description, was my dorm room at college.

"Peter, please say something." I say softly, not even sure if he could hear me.

"I don't know what to say. I know you need to go back, but I want you to stay. I don't want to lose you." Peter says, placing a hand on my cheek. He wipes away a tear that has fallen.

"You're not losing me Peter. We'll be together, somehow. I know it. But I do need to go back. I need to finish my studies and see my family. I'm sure we'll see each other again."

"How can you be so sure?"

"I know that Aslan will bring us back together. Whether it's here or in my time, we'll see each other again."

"My lord, I hate to interrupt, but if Lady Elizabeth wishes to get back, she should go now. We do not know how long the doorway will stay open." A guard says, approaching us. We both sigh as the guard drifts back to his post.

"I guess it is time. I don't want to say goodbye though." Peter sighs.

"Then don't. Let's just say see you later." Peter pulls me into a tight hug, neither of us wanting to let go.

"I'll see you later then. I love you, my darling."

"I love you too." I say as Peter leans down to kiss me. It's a short, sweet kiss that we both wish could last forever. But sadly, I need to go.

"Promise me you won't forget Narnia?"

"I could never forget this place. But I will see you soon my handsome king."

"See you soon my love." With that, I walked through the portal, and back into my college dorm. Back into my real life.
