Chapter 6 - Things gone wrong
"Why?" I asked myself. I looked on the ground, which was full of balloons and gathered up my strength and blew the last balloon. After that, my hand went through my hair and I asked myself the same question again. "Why? Why did I agree to do this anyway?"
Why was I doing it? I don't know. I looked at the clock, it was already 7 p.m. and the SHINee members would arrive anytime. I laid back on the sofa and thought why I had agreed to do this anyway.
"What do you want to tell me?" I asked Eun hee who was sitting on her bed and chatting with somebody. "Here" she said and placed a key in my hands. "Ummmm ..... What should I do with that?" I asked and examined the key. "You have to organize Jonghyun oppa's surprise birthday party." She said and started chatting again. I looked at her, waiting for her to say that it was a joke, but she didn't say anything.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Eun hee asked. "Aren't you supposed to say that it was a joke?" I ask and she put her phone away, giving me her full attention. "No, why should I say it if it wasn't a joke? Look, Key oppa and Taemin oppa came here today, to ask you if you could organize Jonghyun oppa's birthday party. Since you weren't there they asked me if I could tell you this massage" she said and we made eye contact. "And you just said that I would do that? Why can't they do it themselves?" I asked astonished.
"If you had looked at their puppy eyes yourself, you would have said yes without hesitation. They said that they don't have time to prepare because of their schedule. This is the key for their house" She said and looked at me with pleading eyes.
"Fine" I said and groaned. Since it's for a birthday, I think I could grant this favor. "Remember his birthday is in 4 days" she said while I walked outside and closed the door. Jonghyun has birthday on the 12th January? Nice to know.
The next day I went to school and was greeted by Minji and Siwon, who always seemed to be joyful. "Want to eat some Jjajangmyeon in two days after school? I will be busy today and tomorrow, but I think I can make time in two days." Minji asked and I hyped up. "Yesss, Jjajangmyeon" I said. Since I hadn't eaten any Korean food in America, I had been eating Korean fast food since I came back. At this rate, I would have to start exercising if I don't stop.
For the next two days I was preparing for the party. I went to the supermarket and bought decorations, prepared a gift and looked up recipes for food which I could make. It was the 11th January and I would be finally eating Jjajangmyeon with Minji and Siwon.
3, 2, 1. I was counting the seconds left until the bell rang. "Finally" I said and turned my head to Minji. "Jjajangmyeon day" I sang and waited for her to get up. "Dude, you are getting too hyper for simple Jjajangmyeon." She said and laughed. "Siwon, you coming?" I asked as I turned around and looked at Siwon. "Na, I can't. People would recognize me" he said and I shrugged my shoulders, not knowing what it meant.
"Let's go Minji" I said and dragged Minji's arm with me. One thing I noticed is, that I wasn't talking to Jonghyun, Onew, Minho, Taemin, Key or Baekhyun that much anymore. We just waved at each other and smiled each other when we saw us. I just hoped that our friendship wouldn't become invisible.
As we were walking on the street I saw a big poster, hung at a skyscraper. "This guy looks so much like Siwon" I said and pointed at the guy in the middle. It seemed like a band poster and they were called Super Junior.
"That IS Siwon. Didn't you know? He is in the band called Super Junior" she said casually and my jaw literally dropped on the ground. "WHAT?" I asked astonished. "Gosh, you airhead. Haven't you ever seen their posters around?" she asked and smacked my head.
We went to eat Jjajangmyeon and after that Minji accompanied me until home and the entire time the only thing I was talking about was, that it was shocking that Siwon is an idol. "And he didn't seem like an idol" I said and shook my head. "Soo Min we are at home" she said and I looked around. "Oh yeah, that's true" I said and waved my goodbye to her.
I went upstairs and took a bath and lay on my bed afterwards. Oh, right, Jonghyun's party will be tomorrow evening. I closed my eyes and soon fell asleep.
Well, here I was blowing up balloons on the next day. I sneaked myself in SHINee's house at 5 p.m. with the help of the Key which I had gotten from Key. I got the Key from Key. That sounds so funny. I laughed at my own thoughts and cleaned up the living room.
After 2 and a half hour I managed to do quite a lot of things: clean the living room, blow balloons, decorate the living room, make snacks and put everything, including the cake on the table. After that I went to look around their rooms and find quite some funny and interesting stuff.
I never knew Onew had a secret stock of sweets behind his bed and I eventually found Minho's sketch book; I must say, he paints really well. After that I went into the bathroom and changed my clothes into a dress with stockings.
After about 10 minutes Eun hee and Kyungsoo came over and waited for the arrival of SHINee. And then we heard it. Footsteps. Many footsteps. We closed the lights, and hid behind the sofa and Eun hee let out an excited giggle. "Shush" I whispered and Eun hee covered her mouth with her hand.
The lights switched on and we all jumped out while screaming "Happy Birthday Jonghyun!" We all three smiled ear to ear, but when we saw a rather shocked expression from Jonghyun, our smiles dropped. In the corner, I could see Key laughing and Taemin trying to hold his laugh.
"I-I don't have birthday today" Jonghyun said.
Key and Taemin, you both are dead.
End of Chapter 6
Guys, you really don't know how hard it was for me, to write a chapter this week, the teachers are putting us under pressure. Anyway, this is the reason why this chapter was shorter and was probably boring. *cries* BUT, at least I held my promise to update every week. Plus, you may find some mistakes in it.
