Love is such a strange thing. It can make you do truley crazy things. It can even drive you wild. But that's the thing about love. When there is a sense of danger, adventure, and spontaneity that's what makes love worth while. That's what creates a love that can last a lifetime; or can it?
I feel so lost sometimes. As if I'm in my own little world. Sometimes I just wish I could be understood. But it's like nobody will even give me a chance. But that's not going to be the case anymore. There has to be someone that can understand me, someone that wants me for who I am.
The world was spinning. I saw nothing but a nonstop blue sky. The world didn't exist, nothing but that beautiful blue sky. The rest of the world was just spinning by in a kaleidoscope of colors. Music blasted into my head as I shut my eyes for a second, letting the music fill me. But as soon as I felt my whole body slip away into the music the spinning came to an abrupt stop. It startled me, causing me to jolt forward and slip off the merry-go-round. I landed in the sand and my headphones yanked out of my ears. I opened my eyes to see my brother standing overtop of me.
"Jada, I've been looking for you everywhere. My friend Brett won't stop asking me about you. He wants to talk to you. He thinks you're cute or some shit." He said, tugging at his backback.
"Well damn Jason, you don't have to scare me like that." I said, standing and brushing off the sand from my knees.
"How else did you expect me to get your attention? But whatever. Can you just go talk to him or something he's driving me nuts." he said.
"Tell him I'm busy." I said starting to walk away.
"Ha, you're funny. Can you just go say hi or something. Seriously, that's all you have to do."
"Tell him to keep dreamin."
With that I walked to the little surf shop across the street from the beach I was on.
I have lived in Sarasota, Florida for about two weeks now with my brother. Moving out of the shitty town I previously lived in and moving to Florida was always my dream. It was such a beautiful city with so many opportunities and adventures.
I'm also finally living my dreams. All my life I've wanted to get into modeling and now that I have a manager and some shots at becoming who I've always wanted to be, you'd think I couldn't be happier. But I still felt like something was always missing in my life. I just never really understand what that could be.
I walked into the surf shop and started towards the freezer near the back, noticing the guy behind the counter staring at me. I just rolled my eyes. I opened the freezer and grabbed two blue popsicles. I went to the counter to pay.
"Hi there." the guy said.
He had dark hair and incredibly dark eyes. He was kinda hot.
"I'm Jack." he said, leaning over the counter.
Another guy appeared next to him behind the counter. He had blue eyes and blonde hair and was really short.
"I'm Jack too." he said. "But you can call me JJ."
"What's up Jack and.. JJ." I said to both of them, not caring at all.
"Oh you know, just working at the main tourist attraction every single day. Lots of fun as you can imagine." JJ said.
You know, we've seen you around a lot. I'm assuming you're new here?" Jack said.
I nodded.
"Doesn't a pretty girl like you have parties to go to and boys to hang with constantly rather than breaking the bank on popsicles." he said, as I handed the money.
"That's very charming of you. But you should know that I only do that sort of stuff at night, you know, when the wild side comes out." I said, winking and grabbing my popsicles off the counter.
"That's interesting. You know, my buddy Taylor has some wicked parties. I never see you at any of them?" he asked. "Have you JJ?"
"Nope." JJ said. "You should definately stop by some time!"
"I'll keep that in mine." I said.
With that I walked out of the surf shop and back to the beach across the street.
As I approached an empty spot on the beach I sat down and watched the waves crash against the shore as I unwrapped a popsicle. I watched as Jason came walking towards me.
"If you're going to ask me about your stupid friend again don't waste your time." I said to him.
He laughed and sat next to me.
"Nah, I don't even know where he went."
He pulled out his laptop from his backpack (that's my brother, the tech nerd) as I sat and watched the waves and ate my popsicles. Life was good. I had a cute little apartment, lived right on the beach, and was jumpstarting a modeling career which was always my biggest dream. I was happy. I thought things couldn't get any better.
