If We Ever Meet Again

I woke up to the sun shining in my eyes. The window was open so I felt a cool breeze come in. I checked my phone that was laying on my bedside table. I had three new messages; two from my manager and one from my mom. I had some callbacks for modeling to go to today but all I really wanted to do was lay in bed and watch Disney movies. But this was something I loved to do so I talked myself into getting out of bed.

I walked out into the kitchen and made some breakfast. After breakfast I took a shower and got ready for the day. I left my long, dark brown hair naturally curly as usual. I put on a gray tank/crop top and some high waisted jean shorts.

Jason walked out of his room by this time, messy hair and his laptop in hand.

"Well look who decided to wake up today." I said as he sat next to me on the couch, not looking up from his computer screen.

"I'm surprised you're out of bed. Normally you just stay in bed until I come in and beat you up." he said still mesmerized by his screen.

I just sat there scrolling through tumblr.

"Well lucky for me I have a shoot today. So that means I have to go out in the world and be productive. I know, crazy right?"

"Modeling shoot, huh? You sure you wanna do all of this?"

He typed some stuff into his computer.

"Jason, you know this has always been my dream. I want to be able to love what I do so it's worth a try." I got up front the couch and walked over to the door and grabbed my yellow backpack that had a smiley face on it.

"You leavin right now?"

He finally looked up from his computer.

"Yeah." I said. "I figured I'd take the long way so I could walk along the beach."

"Good because I have two classes today." he let out a big yawn before continuing. "So I'm taking the car and I probably won't be back until around, eh, I don't know, midnight?"

I stopped before turning the handle of the door and turned towards him.

"Midnight? What are you doing traveling to classes in the Sahara Desert?"

"I figured I'd chill with Brett for a bit after. You can come too if you wa-"

"I'll pass." I cut him off. "See ya later then."

I walked out of my apartment complex and headed over to the beach. It was a beautiful day; at least 85°. The sky was perfectly clear and the beach was packed with people. It was like walking through an obstacle course of beach towels, sand castles and kids. I started walking towards the back where there was lots of open space. I couldn't help but watch as the happy couples cuddled on their towels and put sunscreen on eachother's backs. Just as I was watching them, I wasn't paying attention to the flying football that came spiraling towards me, hitting me right in the face and knocking me to the ground.

The next thing I remember was opening my eyes and immediately bringing my hand up to my forehead to feel a bump.

It wasn't until I realized what had happened that I noticed somebody standing over me, talking to me.

"Oh my god. Are you okay? I'm sorry, but you know you really shouldn't be walking right between two teenage guys tossing a football." He laughed and smile shot across his face. That's when I realized who was kneeling over me.

He was the most gorgeous boy I have ever seen in my entire life. He left me breathless, my face heating up like a wildfire, spreading throughtout my whole body. He had short light brown hair that was spiked up in the front into a quiff hairstyle. His eyes were a deep brown that I got lost in within seconds, pulling me in, taking no mercy. And his smile, oh his smile. His teeth were so white and perfect but it was something about the way his perfect lips curved up made my heart race faster than a rocket blasting off. And that was even before looking at his gorgeous, tan abs.

He was staring at me, looking into my eyes. Shit, his gorgeous eyes were on me. I couldn't move I couldn't speak.

"Sorry. I wasn't.. really uhm.. paying attention to u..  where I was going." I could barey get my words out.

I sat up and rubbed my forehead.

"Well that's obvious. Here, let me help you up." He said, offering me his hand as he stood up.

Naturally I took it and he pulled me up. I was within inches from his face and could smell his cologne, swirling around me like vines, compelling me to never move again.

I broke the stare by looking down and brushing the sand off my legs and picking up my backpack.

"Sorry about interferring with you're uh football extravaganza." I said, smiling as he laughed. I looked over at the other guy he was tossing the football with.

"Bro, let's go!" The other guy yelled. "What's the hold up?!"

"That's my cue." he smiled and started to walk away, backwards just as I turned and started walking away. "My name's Cameron by the way."

I turned towards him and yelled back, "I'm Jada."

With that he turned back to his game, catching the football being tossed by his friend. I continued walking away, smiling. I glanced back just as he did, making eye contact again. I blushed and turned back away, thanking myself for deciding to walk along the beach today.
