You and I

I fell asleep to the sound of waves crashing on the shore. It was so peaceful that I just drifted off into my own dreamland. I woke up laying in the sand. It was so dark out that I couldn't see if anybody was at the beach still. I sat up and ran my fingers through my hair. I started to stand up and heard a voice, coming from not too far away.

"Who's there?" The voice said. It was a raspy, sleepy, teenage guy's voice.

"Uh, Jada?" I said back, trying to find where it was coming from. "Who are you?"

A few seconds later Cameron's face appeared right in front of me, smiling. I let out a sigh of relief, but my stomach filled with butterflies.

"What are you still doing here?" He asked.

"I must've fallen asleep." I said. "The sound of waves is really calming to me. I guess this time it was more of a lullaby."

Cameron smiled and moved closer to me so I could make out his full figure. He still wasn't wearing a shirt and his hair was all messy, but still so hot. Seeing him in the middle of the night like this was electrifying.

"What are you still doing here?" I asked him. I looked around. "Are we alone?"

He continued walking closer to me. I could feel my body heating up with each step he took.

"You want us to be alone?" he asked, smirking.

I just stood there, speechless. That's what Cameron made me. Completely, utterly, speechless.

"Because, yes, we are alone." He finally said. "Everybody left, Matt took Penny home and now it's just you and me."

I watched him as his eyes locked on mine. I felt paralyzed, as if I was stuck right here, with Cameron, forever. My whole body was hot and shaking. I was terrified that he could hear my racing heart.

"You wanna take a walk with me?" he asked.

I smiled at him and felt my whole body relax.

"I like walks." I said.

He smiled and motioned for me to walk beside him. We went down the shore and started walking to the other end of the beach.

"So, why haven't I seen you around before?" he asked.

"Well, aren't you the most observent little boy here." I said, smirking at him.

He smiled back at me.

"I just moved here two weeks ago." I told him. "I'm originally from Ohio."

"Ohio, huh? That's a lil different from Florida, don't ya think?" he said, bending over to pick up a shell from the sand.

I smirked and ran a hand through my hair, looking out to the ocean.

"I guess I just wanted to start fresh, try something new. I was so sick of people trying to live my life for me. I wanted to, for once in my entire life, do something for me. Something I knew my heart desired. So I went against many people's wishes and moved here, leaving my old life behind." I told him.

He threw the shell out into the ocean. I watched as it whipped far out and landed with a smack on the water. Cam nodded his head as he licked his lips.

"And what exactly was so bad about your old life that made you want to start new?" he asked, running his hand through his hair, messing it up even more.

"A lot." I said looking down at the sand.

"That tells me so much." he said sarcatically. He laughed and I smiled at him.

"It's way too complicated." I said. "Trust me, you do not what me wasting your time telling you my whole life story. It was shit. That's all you need to know."

"Try me." He said, shrugging his shoulders.

I shot him a look.

"How about enough talking about me. What about you?" I said, changing the subject. "Have you lived here your whole life?

"Hell no." He said, widening his eyes.

By that time we were at the end of the beach. In front of us were piles of huge rocks surrrounding the lighthouse. Cameron turned to me and motioned for me to climb up on the rocks with him. He jumped up effortlessly and I propped my leg up as he held out his hand to pull me up. I blushed as I grabbed his hand. The skin to skin contact felt like electricity. I could tell he felt it too by the way he looked into my eyes. He pulled me up and turned around. I followed him, hopping from rock to rock. We laughed and felt completely free, sprinting towards the lighthouse. I slipped a little stepping on one of the wet rocks but Cameron grabbed my arm and caught me, keeping me from falling. He smiled at me and we both laughed. He turned around and we hopped across more rocks until we were right beside the lighthouse. He stopped and I stood on the rock next to him as he sat down on the edge of the one his, dangling his feet. I sat next to him and looked out into the ocean. We sat there in silence, just looking out, listening to the waves crash on the shore.

"Two months." He finally said, still looking out to the ocean.

"What?" I asked confused, looking over at him.

"That's how long I've lived here." he answered.

"That's it?" I watched his face in the moonlight. "Something about you makes it seem like you've been here for years."

"Matt and I where just like you. We wanted something new. So we packed up our things and traveled. Anywhere we would want to go, we went there. It was great. Then about six months ago we came here and met Taylor at this very beach. He talked us into moving down here and into his apartment. Matt really wanted to and I thought it sounded like an awesome idea so.. we did." he shrugged his shoulders. "Best decision ever." he finally looked away from the ocean and straight into my eyes.

I felt a chill run down my spine. I swallowed as the wind blew through my hair. We both sat there, getting lost in eachother's eyes. His beautiful dark eyes were all on me. He acted as if he never wanted to look away, and that was the best feeling I have ever felt in my enitre life. I smiled and he smiled back at me.

"What's your biggest fear?" I finally asked him.

He didn't answer at first. He just kept watching me. The silence was soothing but I was dieing to hear his voice.

"I don't really know." he finally said.

"Horrible answer." I said as a smile grew on my face and we both started laughing.

We sat there for a few more minutes in silence, looking out into the ocean and listening to the waves. Finally, Cameron wrapped his arm around me and pulled me close to his body. I layed my head onto his shoulder and closed my eyes. The warmth from his body burning my skin like lava. I felt like I was catching a fever from the heat radiating off his skin. His scent rushed through me like a drug. I couldn't get enough. I never wanted to leave. I wanted this forever, and nothing less.
