No particular POV:

For some girls romance is a magical heart stopping thing. You want the epic love stories you read in books.

Walking along a picturesque beach holding hands with a beautiful man or women. Maybe riding on a horse or having breathtaking proposals that make your heart skip a beat.

The kind of love you remember and reminisce about for years and years to come.

Others don't want that. They want independence and to not seem to ever lean on a man in their lifetime.

What some need to find out is that romance and leaning on a man are two completely different things.

You can still be in a equal relationship and have a heart stopping love story.

Lillian Linton was someone who had a hard time seeing the difference between the two so on Valentine's Day fuelled as well by her hatred for men she turned down every single flower bouquet and box of chocolate sent to her.

Sinful I know to turn down chocolate but in her head she had no choice.

Lillian was thankful for her escape to the office on that day as she couldn't be bombarded with any more suitors.

Even if they were carrying chocolates.

The office was her sanctuary most days even if her employer worked her to the bone and argued with her constantly.

Arguments were frequent between her and dick dearest on most days and today was no different.

Apart from today was a little bit different. As they argued they shuffled a little bit closer and closer to one another.

Their heart rates picked up in pace and Lillian's eyes sometimes darted very quickly, with an efficiently Rikkard would be proud of, to his lips and back to his eyes.

Rikkard was doing the exact same thing as they walked backwards away from the desk till Lillian's back was against the wall.

We all know it's his favourite make out spot.

Suddenly they both stopped arguing over one file and another and noticed the intimacy of their situation.

Slowly they both looked deep into each other's eyes. Sometimes she thinks that she can navigate the swirling ocean of his emotions but in reality she was sailing on a cardboard boat bound to sink eventually.

In sync as if they were possessed by some higher power, like Sir Robs writing, they leant together and meet in a sweet kiss.

It was a sweet passionate kiss filled not with lust, not with passion or desire but with an unspoken love for one another.

To Lillian it was like walking along a beach. One riddled with rocks, pitfalls and eligible bachelors holding chocolates and flowers, but one that had the beautiful silhouette of a gorgeously chiselled emotionally distant man standing against the back drop of a dying sun waiting for her at the end.

For him it was an uphill battle where he could finally find happiness, a companion who wasn't just after him for his money and looks. Someone was loyal as his ten year old almost new tailcoat. He had found Lillian not in a beautiful gown but in ill fitting men's trousers and a large top hat. He couldn't ask for anything more.

They moved together as if they were a piece of machinery shinning in the artificial light of the office.

Both lost in their own worlds fighting their own battles for each other, both facing different demons but wanting the same end goal of being together.

For now though until that time could come they moulded their lips together as their kiss progressively got steamer and steamer they were both content with one another.

Like they were trying to imprint the memory of one another into their lips.

It wasn't the heart stopping romantic moments that made their relationship. It was the little moments together.

Sweet stolen kisses and secretive glances, exciting adventures and unfortunate timing on Karmin's part they were both happy with where the were and how all those moments grew into something more.

Maybe this was what Lillian wanted. A place in between epic romance and none at all.

All she wanted was a man named Rikkard Ambrose.

All he wanted was her.
