The world was, at one point, a beautiful place.

A place where stars would appear way up above, in a land untouchable to us mortals.

Where the skies shimmered a hundred different shades of blue and the dying orange rays of the sun cast the most beautiful glow in the world illuminating all that are in love.

Rikkard Ambrose had never been a romantic, but one side of his mouth twitched up as he glanced at the silhouette of his very pregnant wife gazing out across the ocean as the sun set.

There would never be a time in his old miserly life where he wouldn't love this moment.

That moment his stone cold heart wasn't as cold anymore. It was thawing under the fiery hold of the most beautiful ifrit in the entire world.

She had rocked into his life wearing trousers and a over sized top hat armed with her own personal arsenal of incredibly creative insults questioning his masculinity.

Though she doesn't know it he's had to fight tooth and nail to win her affection. A beautiful, independent, foreword thinking women like Lillian captured the hearts of many men.

Rikkard almost went insane with jealousy.

Now he smiles a little bit as she stands tall and proud at the spearhead of the ship, her beautiful dress billowing all around her.

The ring glistening and catching the light on her finger, shinning brighter than a thousand stars.

The ring that Rikkard put on her finger.

That brings another small smile to his face as he walks lovingly towards his wife.

"Push! I see the head, not far now Mrs Ambrose!"

"ARRGGG! How do women do this it's bloody pai- ARRG!"

"It's all right Lillian."A shout come from outside.

"Your not pushing a baby out your end Dick dear so I wo-ARRRGGG!"

Rikkard stood stiff and somewhat awkwardly outside the door to his and Lillian's bedroom where she was currently on her 7th and hopefully finale hour of labour.

He could hear his wife's screams and shouts but could do nothing but pace methodically outside the door.

He paced back and forth his expression calm and void of emotion but on the inside he was a tornado of emotions.

Suddenly all went quiet inside the room and Rikkards nerves got the better of him.

"Hello is anyone in there?"

"Yes sir you may come in!"

He walked into the room to see his wife sweaty and pale lying on the bed clutching two bundles of joy.

"You've got twins Sir."

"I can see that Doctor."

"Oh well..."

"Would you care to leave us?"

"Umm alright."

The doctor awkwardly shuffled out from behind him and closed the door smiling softly at the sweet little family before him.
