It's that time of the year again guys. The time for horror, the time for scares and most importantly the time for me to build my bridge. No, I'm not talking about end of the year exam season. It's time for college acceptance.
So by now most of the UC's (University of California) have released their acceptances and... well for me, I got rejected. +sighs+
But what I find funny is how we care so much about college acceptance and what college we get into. Don't get me wrong, education is important and all that, and you should work hard. But the thing is I've always wondered why we pressure ourselves to get into prestigious colleges that some of us can't even afford to get into.
I mean yes, the college has built up it's reputation, but sometimes there will be that one person who was torn up because they weren't accepted. I'm not going to say that a college is just a college because I'm also desperately trying to get into a UC myself, but it's something interesting that came into my mind while reading my rejection letter.
Which, by the way, was the most formal way of saying "no." XD.
In any case, for those of us who are fearing for this moment, all I can say is that don't worry about it too much. For one, I'm sure you tried your best and I thInk that's all that really matters. I also kind of hate to say this, but there's always applying next year (aka take a break year).
Oh gosh what am I saying... Don't listen to a potato.
