I stared out the front window. I was sitting next to my older brother Tyler in the passenger seat as he drove me to school. "Bye Tyler," I said getting out of the car.
"I'll see you after school, Jade."
"Actually, I'm walking home with Alli today." Alli is one of my two best friends. Alli, Kyle, and Jade the freaks. People are just jealous. Everyone at JOSGC is a prodigy most have two subjects where they are experts. The three of us each have three. "Earth to Jade!" Kyle half yelled snapping me out of my thoughts. "What, Kyle."
"We have homeroom in two minutes."
"Oh God,"I said as we started running to the classroom. We made it in the door seconds before the bell rang. Mr. Johnson stood up and started talking, "Class, today we will have a new student," he was interrupted by the door opening. "Is this room 258?" the boy asked.
"Yes, yes it is,"Mr Johnson replied. "Class this is Sean, Sean Williams." After hearing the name of the boy I was completely speechless. I watched as he took a seat on the other side of the room. I raised my hand and asked " Mr. Johnson, may I go to the bathroom."
"I don't know may you?" he said "Oh wait that was the right one. Yes, I guess you may go."
"Thank you." I grabbed my bag and practically ran to the girls bathroom. I splashed water all over my face and stared into the mirror, letting the memory from five years ago wash over me.
(start of flashback)
I was eleven years old. Sean and I were sitting in the living room playing Mario Kart. My phone rang so I pause the game. I walked over to the phone seeing it was from an unknown number. I thought it would just be a girl from school. I answered the phone "Hello."
"Hello is this Jade Mclain."Then I knew something was wrong.
"Yes."
"I'm calling from the hospital, your parents have been in an accident on their way home. They didn't make it."
"Okay," I was shocked I-I couldn't believe it they were gone.
"There will be a car at your house to take you to the hospital soon. Bye, bye."
"Okay, bye." I hung up and plopped down on the couch bursting into tears. Sean looked at me concerned, "Who was that?"
"Tha-that was the hospital," I sobbed "M-my parents are dead." He pulled me into a hug, "I'm so sorry Jade." The car pulled up to the front yard. I went to the hospital, he went home. The next day I packed my things and got in the social services car and rode to the airport. I landed in LA where my brother was waiting to take me to his home. That sad, sad day was the last time I saw Sean before today.
