I can't go back to school on Monday. I have to, but I don't want to. How could this happen? Maybe it's just me, maybe it's my fault. Maybe I did something wrong? I started crying, I couldn't hold the tears back anymore. My phone rang, I was tempted to let it ring, but I saw it was Jade.
"H-hey."
"Alli, I'm coming to pick you up."
"W-why?"
"One, you need to forget Jason. Two, Kyle and Sean invited us for ice-cream at Friendly's, and we are going."
"Jade's got a boyfriend," I sang.
"Would you shut up," she laughed, "I'll be there in ten. Pack a bag. After you're sleeping over at my house."
"K, bye," I was starting to feel better. Jade has that effect on people, not to mention she's my best friend. I'm lucky to have people like Jade and Kyle, and I guess now Sean, to fall back on.
I quickly put on some makeup to cover the pink blotchyness that is my face after I've been crying. (IS THAT JUST ME? CUZ THAT ALSO HAPPENS TO MY FRIEND?? SO YEAH!) Ten minutes later, I heard a knock at the door. "I'LL GET IT!" I yell sprinting to the door. I open it to see Jade, the same as always. Same straight, jet black hair, same tall slim figure. Same black heart earrings, red leather jacket. "You ready," she asked.
"As much as I'll ever be."
"Good. Let's go, then."
"I call shotgun!" I yelled running towards the car.
"Alli um, you know we're meeting the boys there, right?" she laughed. My face turned bright red, "Um, yeah I totally knew that." Jade started laughing. "What?"
"You're funny, Alli." We both got into the car. Jade turned on the radio and it started playing Shout Out to My Ex by Little Mix. I immediately started singing to it.
"I guess I should say thank you for the hate you's and the tattoos! I'm cool by the way and sure I loved you anyway..."
Eventually, Jade joined in. As the song finished we pulled into Friendly's we found the boys sitting at a booth inside. Jade sat next to Sean and I slid in next to Kyle. "Hey girls," Kyle said looking up from the menu.
"Hey," Sean said still staring at the menu.
"You know, it wouldn't kill you to look up," Jade said lightly shoving him.
"Jade's got a boyfriend," I mumbled. Kyle started to crack up.
"What Alli?" she said, her face was bright red and she was staring at me with huge "DON'T YOU DARE" eyes. So, I went with the same answer, "Nothing." I looked from Sean to Jade both of their faces looked like tomatoes. "So anyway," Sean changed the subject, "what do you girls want?"
" Um, I'll have chocolate ice cream with caramel syrup and hot fudge," Jade said.
"And I'll have mint chocolate chip with whipped cream and gummy bears," I added. They nodded and got up to order. A few minutes later, they came back with four ice creams and put them on the table. We talked and ate and laughed for hours. I was sad to say goodbye to the boys, but I would see them again soon. Now, I wonder what Jade has planned.
